There are some in the fandom who ship shade the echidna with Remington. Just saying mabye that would have been a possibility.

wait... so while they were fighting or even before that she just died, and that new process was something like the Cyborgs of Dragon ball, cause technically change up her whole body is very similar!!!, and whow!!!, the first death in this comic sequence, you really know how to pick up the moments...

i know nothing much about Komi, but this feels personal
didn’t really learn why the mobians and freedom fighters took such care to not kill..... but I’m already willing to ignore it
Lastly, while I found the crossover with megaman to be unnecessary, this is a scene that would do wonders to express to the blue bomber the monstrosity of machinery

Since this is a fan work, why kill her off? I know she herself wasn't a major character, but look at what you did to Remington.
The only compensation now would be Lien-Da's death. Yes, I believe in this sort of thing. You can't kill off loved ones for no reason and have the villains responsible get off scot-free and continue to draw breath (and possibly add more characters to the death count).

Komi-Ko wasn't just a throwaway death, it's a necessary part of the story and Remington's character development. I'm glad that you brought up the prospect of killing Lien-Da in turn, since it plays into one of central themes of Sonic Retold shared by many characters. Stay tuned for more.

I want to say a few words after reading this page in particular.
Throughout the past few moons, I've realized that I just don't like Sonic the Hedgehog, or at least I've lost most (if not all) interest in not only the character but everything having to do with him, especially after exposing myself to things that are so much better. When it comes to his games and even the official comics, for so long, he just felt so forced and like nothing but a money grabber with no real passion; just a series of experiments to throw stuff at the wall to see what sticks just because he once rivaled Mario. The character came off to me, especially as of late, as just a shell filled with the most cliche "hero" traits with a cocky attitude slapped onto his face to the point it just became boring and annoying. The design of the character and others in the franchise have come to bother me to no end. With terrible design, "story", and game-play choices, Sega has lost just about all of my respect. Additionally, the Archie comics, or what I saw of them, were jokes. I could never take them seriously at all whatsoever and the very thought of Sonic and co being in a dark, edgy situation has just grown really stupid and pointless to me, especially after the ridiculous things I've seen come from the comics. I literally can not and could not use the comics for anything but amusement. Taking this money-grabbing joker and his cheerleader friends seriously? Um, no. That can't work out. I used to think it would, but it just can't.
Or at least that's what I concluded before seeing this comic.
I'll admit that I purposely stayed away from reading it when it first came out due to how I was beginning to dislike the franchise so much and the designs of the "echidnas" always, always bothered me (even more than Sonic's) as well as how I saw them handled in the official comics. However, after seeing this one page, I actually went back and read through this comic from the beginning. And, it made me remember comics like Ghosts of the Future (which I have kinda started to lose interest in reading, slowly, though I still respect it), and the amazing, gorgeous comic by grafffite . I was reminded of how people can take characters, even the most ruined ones, and truly make them. They can take concepts and designs and everything they want and make something out of it that their official owners seem to just not be able to do. They can make something actually good, something so much better than what the world was shown by the ones who claim their names. This comic right here is a brilliant example of that, especially with how it keeps the style and designs of the Archie cast, as cringy as they are to me, but still manages to tell an actually amazing story with them. I never ever thought I'd be able to feel any sort of true emotion other than amusement while reading something relating to the Archie comics but you have proven me wrong, here. I actually felt the emotion in these pages. The way you handle these characters and dialogue and the way you set the mood on every page is just outstanding and it shows just how even the cringiest of characters can be given a new light by the right hands, a better light.
So even though Sonic the Hedgehog is still a franchise and fan-base I've lost most of my interest and respect for, I have to thank you for restoring that hope and awe that can be brought with what the fans can do with him and those who share his light. I might just keep my eye on this one.

I highly recommend you also check out the Archie Sonic Online fan continuity! So far they only have Mobius Legends 1&2 up, with Endangered Species coming soon. It shows alot of promise, though.

I'm honored to have brought such a positive feeling to you with my comment! And, I wholeheartedly agree with everything you've just said. I lost all hope in the games and I can never read the Archie comics unless it is to look for the hilarious mistakes and expressions that are made in the panels.
However, I know two extremely talented animators and storytellers who have been, honestly, my only positive connections to the Sonic characters. My best friend, MikeDarklighter (whose channel is here ), and my friend Sasso Studios make wonderful animations that tell their own stories in their own universes and the way they handle these stories and the Sonic characters is so much better than any official Sonic series. Both of them are incredible and I owe so much inspiration and hope for the cast to them and their greatness.
I don't think I'd even give any Sonic-related stuff a sliver of a chance if it weren't for Mike, especially. XD Like with your comic, he's amazing at handling the characters in serious situations and story plots like in his Fiona's Saga animation and his ongoing series, The Unifier . I definitely recommend checking them out if you'd like if you haven't already. XD
Sasso Studios is also awesome. He handles the characters in a more humorous way but it's all so charming in the way he does it haha
Anyways, do keep up your amazing work! I look forward to where you'll go next with your comic. ^^

Hi, Glitcher. Now i know this is my second comment on this page so far, but my friend actually made a pretty interesting and bold predicament: he thinks this isnt the last we've seen of Komi Ko.(Edit: anyone is invited to discuss.)

I initially thought he was on to something, but there's too much proof that says otherwise(unless we see her in a flashback, picture, her soul/spirit, etc.)
I eventually saw the reason for this. For most of his life, Remington has always been a noble and good soul, caring about others' lives more than his own. However, this life.....his beloved Komi Ko, the person he cared about above all else, he couldn't save.
I can only see this as utterly destroying Remington, thus making him a much darker and vengeful person.
Anyway amazing work as always! Cant wait for more!

I'm just saying that while she is dead, there's no impact to it because we have little attachment to her as a character. Yes, she meant a lot to Remington but I feel like killing off a character we barely know much of is pretty cheap.

Ok. Where to start? The suspense was very well manage, in the last page you send us the idea, but not the fact, tha Komi was dead. In this page you tell us directly... but the impact doesnt end there, in the next panel we discover the damage to the character. I can feel the impact in Remington. The other characters are introducing in the scene so slowly and our attention still in Remington but we saw Sonic and the others and i can feel the impact in them in different way than Remington (for obvious reasons) and in the third panel i can feel the sadness of him, and the Sonics wish to support his friend... I like so much the phisical distance than show Amy and Tails, not just showing respect, they are showing their emotional conection to Remington. (I can hear the piko-piko falling in the floor) Then all takes a little technical, (Tails explication, Sonic saing than they must to move) I understand than they are trying to dont be superated by the desperation. (Maybe im worng) The tragic irony is than it happened 2 hours ago... they were so close to save her. They save many lives but to Remington to be so close and so far to save THIS life... must be... to much. I question myself if the Freedom Fighters are going to compare this situation with Sally...
