Enter Saffron!
She only has a very small role in this comic, albeit an important one. The fate of Angel Island rests in her hands while Knuckles is away. I would like to point out that Knuckles' remark about spending a few days scavenging is purely for pacing reasons. The script requires that other plotlines be given priority to keep events chronological, so I'm afraid I won't return to the echidna side of the story until Sonic Retold #5. I'm sorry to keep you waiting longer for the family reunion, but that's just how these things go. 
Also, Julie-Su's Streaking Pasha Thunder returns on this page. Thunder only appeared in a handful of Knuckles issues and was never seen again afterwards, but I figure he must still be roaming Angel Island somewhere, so I decided to bring him back in my comic. I feel that Thunder lends character to Julie-Su as her loyal steed and for helping out in general. Anyway, how long do you think Saffron will be able to stay guarding the Master Emerald? Place your bets!

HAHAHA!! i like that last panel you put in there, That was funny. Saffron, in desperate need of a bathroom. Nice touch there, my friend. Hey, just asking but do you think you can brink back Saffron in that state of her desperate need to use the bathroom in a later part of the comic? I know it may have been for comedy reasons but you know maybe you can keep it up a little while longer if Saffron comes back in the next part of the comic looking desperate for a toilet, if that's okay with you. nothing weird just saying cause it's funny to me seeing saffron holding it in for that long. again, just saying, my friend.

oh yes, absolutely!! Just think. how about you have knuckles and juile-su reminding themselves about how saffron is looking after the master emerald and juile-su says things like "i'm sure she is doing a good job without any issues" then in the next panel, saffron is still desperate to use the bathroom. you know for comedic effect and keep on use that running gag until knuckles and juile-su get back to the master emerald. nothing weird just throwing an idea to you. So what do you think?

Sure hope we see this continue in the next issue. I really like this to be a running gag, however, what about sometime later in the comic Saffron decides to leave the emerald for a moment which leads her into various situations that keeps her away much longer than she anticipated. This could lead to some funny moments while also leaving readers in suspense as to whether the emerald gets taken or not.

Whatever they're gathering had better be worth the delay. It wouldn't be food and probably not medical supplies, but what would be left there worth salvaging?
I've just gotten started on the "Chaos Knuckles" arc again, and from what I've seen this isn't really the way Saffron acts. I don't remember if it changed later, but she's not exactly dense there during the siphon incident that resulted in Finitevus's condition.

Well, the echidnas aren't in any immediate danger, so Knuckles can afford a couple more days away. Within the context of the story, you could argue that he doesn't want to return to his people empty-handed, especially since he missed the fight. Logistically, I explained that forestalling Knuckles' return is merely to prioritize other plotlines in the story to keep events chronological. Don't worry, he'll visit Albion eventually.
I assume that you're referring to Saffron's appearance in STH #93-94. I wouldn't judge this page to be incongruent with Saffron's early years when her personality wasn't finalized at that time any more than Charmy's. Hell, even her colours kept changing back then too. To be fair, Saffron is easily the least developed of the Chaotix and susceptible to writer's interpretation. If Saffron mistook Nack's Sky Master as an injured creature in STH #93, can you truly claim that she's not as childish as I portray her here?

True, the threat in Albion is over as far as we've seen and now it's a matter of picking up the pieces, so I can see why Knuckles would want to provide something useful to them rather than just showing up and asking how he can help. Gives him a more solid purpose rather than just being there for emotional support.
Personally I can give Saffron the benefit of the doubt when it comes to Nack's ship. If she hasn't been exposed to that sort of technology, can we really blame her for assuming it was alive? I certainly got a lot of ragging back in college when I naively translated an innuendo into sign language so that it came across with a rather innocent meaning. It's not necessarily childish, but I suppose it could be child-like. Definitely not the same thing.

I like so much tap han Knuckes had left someone with the Master Emerald, well it’s someone symbolic but Saffron it’s ok. Something than I wanted to see in your comic was the Angel isle and the Master Emerald and I’m so happy than you show us it before to continue
i like tha Knuckles and company don’t go direct to Albion, I don’t know what’s going to happen but I have coreos it y to see New megaopolis. It makes me feel a bigger world.
Its a very good touch to use characters than Archie just forgot. I love to see Thunder and I waited to see it since you put it in the cover page
The rhythm of the history is very well doing, I like comedy moments through the comic. It makes the reader comfort while the history keeps the serious situations.
All that makes a universe more complete

Huh... so is THAT how they explain the disparity in the size of Angel Island from it's enormity in Sonic 3 to barely the size of a large boulder in Sonic Adventure? What we saw in Sonic Adventure was just 'Shrine Isle'?
