For those who identified the boy's rescuer as Remington, all I can say is........ lucky guess.
If you're so clever, I bet you can't tell me who's speaking in the last panel, eh?A reader mentioned that Albion looks a bit different here than it does in Archie's comics. It's true, I wanted to elaborate upon the city's architecture. Browsing through past issues, Albion consisted mainly of identical egg- or horseshoe-shaped buildings with matching rows of windows. It was very monotonous and unrealistic, so I wanted better aesthetics. While I kept much of Albion's dome structures, I developed the urban layout with more buildings and areas to feel like an actual city. There's a great French fantasy comic called Pixie that had useful references for street views. Maybe for later issues, I'll try and work some Ottoman architecture in there too....

What type of font do you use in the comic? o.o

I use CC Dave Gibbons, squashed to 80% horizontal width. It's as close as I could get to Archie's font; only the letter S looks slightly different. If you don't have that font, Wild Words or one of Blambot's fonts are a good approximation.

I would have to bet on Lien-Da being the one talking. No doubt gloating over the capture of the motherland, which she's seeing in person for the first time.
Excellent job on the Albion redesign, btw. I completely agree that the city's original presentation was rather lacking.

As stated in the intro page , it begins after the opening of Sonic #243 where Team Fighters were attacked over Albion.

Fun fact...originally the Death Egg was still above Albion when Team Fighters arrived: leedzie.wordpress.com/2014/03/…
It would make a lot more sense for that to be the case when you think about it. In #241 they're right on Eggman's tail and get held up fighting Titan Metal Sonic. But when they catch up to the Death Egg in #243 it's...suddenly three days later. The weird thing is that this was changed before the lawsuit forced more drastic edits.

A very interesting article! I always thought the Death Egg deposited the D.E.L. in Albion before continuing North, but it seems there's more to this story than meets the eye. Thanks for digging up more behind-the-scenes goodies, TSI. I'm sure the research you've done will prove fruitful in your own comic.

This is just a guess, but the person speaking in the last panel could be Dr. Finitevus.
It's a guess though. XD To me it sounds like something would say while proudly looking over the ruins he created.
However I have a 50% chance my guess is wrong.

When you say "past issues", do you mean back when it was still depicted in small doses and had that air of mystery and was more like a mystical haven rather than just a big city relying solely on a defense system that only needed to be deactivated before it could get razed like a barn by a blowtorch? Because I remember it being a bit more elaborate in those times though it's been a while personally.

To put it in perspective, try comparing the view here to the one in Sonic #89. You'll see what I mean....

Yeah, I did some Google Images searching. I feel like Mobian architecture has been very poorly handled. While I love Steve Butler's art, compare his version of the restored Mobotropolis to SatAM and earlier depictions in the comic for example. And that's not even counting the pre-Nate Morgan version of the city compared to the pathetic New Mobotropolis that is supposed to be a spitting image recreation by the nanites of the original but only looks like a mild medieval town from a cartoon. I think it all boils down to the skill of the artists. Most of the current ones (Adam Thomas as an exception) are mostly low quality artists who draw everything so simple and toony so getting an elaborate fantasy cityscape is sorta out of the question compared to an artist of your caliber.
But what is your take on how the city lost its mysticism and was just something that could be hacked and obliterated so easily? Especially after so many other cities had been done that way not long before.

I was wondering, are you going to implement the color and hairstyle variety in the echidnas like the later issues of this timeline, or will you keep the Knuckles-like look like the older comics? It's only the third page, after all, and I can't tell. So I was curious ^^.
