Ha! Shame on all of you who thought Lara-Le was going to fall to her death. That includes... *checks comments*... no one. Oh well, the joke's on me.
Does the first panel look familiar to anyone? A certain classic cover perhaps?
I want to give a shout-out to miles-tails-prower92 for an astute comment last week: "prediction, sonic will try, but fail, and tails or Remington will catch her." This was actually one of the alternatives that I had planned for this page. I considered drawing Sonic reaching out to Lara-Le in despair to reinforce the homage to Endgame, only for Tails to fly by at the last moment and rescue her. However, I ruled out this idea because I didn't want it to look like Tails is stealing the spotlight. Sonic always saves the girl in the end. What do you think his reward will be?

I must confess than i thought than knuckles are going to save his mom. But i like the things than the situation tell us about Sonic, its clear than he wants to catch the villian and help Sally, but he understand than its urgent to save the lady in distress... as the hero than he is.... And the evil laugh was a good touch, i almost can hear it. I really really really love than Sonic is who is showing a wish to recover Sally (sorry, im a little bit obsesses with Sally) This is the Sonic than i know, love and miss

Thanks! One thing that bothered me during Sonic's quest for Sally is Archie never put much emphasis on his emotional state caused by her loss. I imagine that Sally's absence will only be felt stronger as time goes on, but by the time Endangered Species was published, Sonic has practically put her out of his mind. This was infuriating because it felt like Archie was out of touch with readers by not reflecting their longing for Sally through Sonic. This is a key aspect that I hope to rectify in my comic. While it wasn't really the focus of this issue, I wanted to squeeze in a poignant reminder of Sally to keep Sonic's true feelings alive. I hope to make this yearning more pronounced in further issues - something that Archie lacked. I'm glad you share Sonic's feelings.
As for Knuckles, he still has business elsewhere, but I'll get to him eventually....

When Amy says "Sonic! Woah, you made it!" the line, at least to me, feels a bit forced. I think it would make more sense if Amy just said "Sonic! You made it!" but that's just my opinion. Everything else was fine like always.

I'm loving this. The panel layouts are clear and easy to follow, the art is expressive, the coloring is lush and coherent, and sonic's cool blue stands out amidst the warm color scheme, but not too much. I mean, I don't want to gush and blow smoke up your ass too much, but this really is some professional level stuff.
Altho, I gotta love how in the first panel, each individual "ha" has an exclamation point.
