Anyone remember Komi-Ko? Props if you can tell me which issue she first appeared in...This was the most time-consuming page to draw this issue. A lot of background detail and that electrified panel frame took longer to finish that I thought. Still, I'm much happier with the way Sonic turned out on this page. TBH, he's often tricky to draw because of that weird mono-eye thing of his. I find that lowering his brow makes things easier for me.

Coincidentally, I was at a village theatre play of Oliver Twist when I visited my parents last month. The auditorium gym was so full I could barely see the stage. It doesn't matter, because the play itself was mediocre.

Wow. I haven't heard "Watch your six" in years. I always considered it more of a military term, so to see Sonic using it is... unexpected.
I love the variety you give the echidnas -- the generic red always turned me off. My guess is that Lien-Da has some ace hidden up her sleeve (aside from the laser-eyes) and Remington is going to discover the mysterious prisoner downstairs.

I don't think the term is exclusively for the military, but I guess the Freedom Fighters are kind of a militia anyway.

I always considered the FF more of a guerrilla strike force than a militia, really. I suppose it would be just too convenient if the prisoner was in the basement, wouldn't it? But something he won't be expecting is bound to happen while he's trying to save his people.

I'd imagine that certain forms of non-military infantry (maybe spies or federal government strike teams like SWAT or police, FBI, CIA etc. or other nation's equivalents) say something to that effect.
It's one of those phrases that's universally understandable for English speakers on the field, if one refers to the self as a clock or even a compass - South of yourself would be your present six. Like when they say "XXX at Y 'o Clock".

My first encounter with the idea was "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" when I was 5. The airplane scene was the best. As for specifically "watch your six"... I think it was from the first Halo novel.
