Ha! Shame on all of you who thought Lara-Le was going to fall to her death. That includes... *checks comments*... no one. Oh well, the joke's on me.
Does the first panel look familiar to anyone? A certain classic cover perhaps?
I want to give a shout-out to miles-tails-prower92 for an astute comment last week: "prediction, sonic will try, but fail, and tails or Remington will catch her." This was actually one of the alternatives that I had planned for this page. I considered drawing Sonic reaching out to Lara-Le in despair to reinforce the homage to Endgame, only for Tails to fly by at the last moment and rescue her. However, I ruled out this idea because I didn't want it to look like Tails is stealing the spotlight. Sonic always saves the girl in the end. What do you think his reward will be?

With how much Sonic runs, and at the speeds he does, it makes sense that his legs and torso are super strong and tough. Thus, so long as he lands on his feet, he can totally handle such drops like they're nothing. That's how the part of my brain that knows physics rationalizes it. Though personally I also believe that he has an innate magical ability that he's unconsciously using to reinforce his body and minimize G-forces.

leftover residual energy from all the power ring and chaos energy he has absorbed over the years. Perhaps that has granted him a permanent super resistance to lethal impacts.

Tails caught him on the wings of his Tail's Bi-plane when he fell from the space station in sonic 2. He must have some eventual limit, even if that limit is further than falling off that particular building.

pffffft, sonic could chase that down, all he really needs to do is find an uphill, hit it with enough speed, and press the jump button at the right moment! He'll probably even overshoot it a little
Unless, of course, this version of Sonic is using the boost system... That's a whole other story.

Pffffft, modern Sonic can swim, right? I mean, He's had 25 years to try to learn and he keeps running into obstacles that involve water over and over through the years. I say, if he hasn't at least tried learning to swim by this point he deserves to drown.
