Enter Dimitri! Looks like he's ambulatory again after receiving a patch job in Haven. Congrats to those who guessed it was him on the last page. I notice a few readers thought it was Archimedes talking instead. Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about the little fire ant, even though he's been missing from the comic since Sonic #191.
Archimedes served as Knuckles' mentor since the echidna's miniseries, although in his absence I believe Dimitri can offer his guidance, just as he did during the Chaos Knuckles arc. Knuckles and Julie-Su aren't as trusting of Dimitri as Archimedes, and I think that can create a more interesting dynamic when having to work together. But will Dimitri will stick by them this time, or will he seize the chance to return to his Legion like in Sonic #183? What do you think?VERSION EN ESPAÑOL

Honestly I dont suspect to see Dimitri but its good to see him again, specially because his experience is very suitable for the problem than Knuckles is facing. At least, in the emotional way.
The "Legion vs Brotherhood" is something than looks to be unavoidable in this family and i like to see than you touch the point so naturally
Until now, we have seen 3 plot lines:
1 Team Fighters in Albion
2 Silver and Shardz
3 Knuckles in Haven
Was so good than in the last panel you unite the line 1 and 3
because this action made us to see a universe than
works at same time and not every body en their moment
I must to confess than what I enjoy more of this page is the 4th panel, im talking about the gaze between Knuckles and Julie su, it ist only a gaze between lovers (dont misundestand me IT is and I LOVE IT) but taking into consideration the context and what Knuckles its saying in than moment the gaze said; "I can face the future with your help" and THAT moments give to the characters a better development and make them to be more alive

Yeah, I mentioned that this issue would branch out from Albion with more characters and plotlines. There's still a fourth plotline due to appear later in the issue. To keep it coherent, these plotline segue naturally from Albion with Sonic and Shard contacting their friends. That aspect of the story is very important to me. I don't want Sonic Retold to suffer 'Game of Thrones syndrome' where it feels like I'm just watching a bunch of plotlines that have nothing to do with each other. Everything in the comic has to be connected and I'm currently exploring different ways to tie it together other than phone calls. For example, I've always believed that finding common traits between character arcs is the most visceral and effective way of developing a complex story. I'm writing my script along those lines.

It occurs to me that Dimitri was waiting for this exact opportunity to reveal he was eavesdropping. A romantic moment must be ruined. But even if I ignore the "30 Years Later" arc, I got the impression that Dimitri was being sincere when he told Knuckles he wanted to make up for his past. I would have expected the reference to Enerjak to rile Knuckles, but I suppose he understood it wasn't meant to be a jab.
If there happens to be a skeleton of a Drakon in that tank of green stuff behind them, I'm seriously going to wig out. LOL!

It's rule #87 of story writing 101 that tender kisses must always be interrupted . It happened in The Empire Strikes Back, The Mask and Back to the Future. So why can't Dimitri do it? Now who else can I deny true love's kiss in the comic?

I think the point of that sort of thing (besides the obvious comic relief) is that when the time comes for the moment to finally be fulfilled without interruption, it's far more satisfying. Supposedly. I didn't feel that way about it in the Jak&Daxter series.
The more I think about it, the more it seems that Lien-Da is the greatest threat to the echidnas. When she took the Legion to Eggman, at least one other Legionnaire expressed doubts about the decision, but she went ahead anyway and they followed suit as they had been trained their whole lives to obey, not think. Her personality is based on pride and control, so I simply can't see a realistic, natural way for her to turn around and give up her antagonism as well as her position. There is one rather simple solution, but I'd rather not post it in public on the off-chance that you already had the idea. I'll message you later.

Before uploading the first issue, I sent you a note asking if you would review it because I loved your reviews for Archie's issues. I still respect your opinion and insight, and would very much appreciate a review of this issue once it's done.

I think Dimitri has had enough of being the divider of his species. He's seen first hand how bad it can be when everyone is out for themselves, and at this point he probably wants his legacy to be more than just "nearly got everyone killed because of my own pride."

I think the (metaphorically speaking) heart-to-heart conversation he had with Nicole did him worlds of good, particularly because Lien-Da's asshole behavior essentially guaranteed he would change sides. (Seriously the guy had been through enough already BEFORE she decided to try to give him a death sentence...)

Not at all, it's just that's really all he seemed to want to do when he was head writer. He was only really motivated to do stuff with Knuckles even after the solo series was cancelled.
I've just never been a fan of his line of writing. He's the reason why Sally went from being a competent leader of the Freedom Fighters to just pining for Sonic and letting her Father keep her on the sidelines. Thankfully Flynn fixed that.
