Yo! It's back to Silver's side of the story. You remember on page 2-7 where he set off to find the Krudzu in Mercia. Maybe it's the solution to deroboticizing Sally?
This scene was originally longer in the script, but had to be trimmed down. After Silver landed in the forest, Mecha Sally and a squadron of robots fly overhead, forcing Silver to take cover. As he does, he hears running water and discovers where Titan Metal Sonic had fallen. This serves two purposes. One, it adds a little tension by nearly having Silver caught. And two, it establishes where Mecha Sally is geographically. She deployed from the Death Egg in the Northern Tundra and is travelling South to the Wolf Pack Nation, so it's not unlikely she would pass over Mercia. I'm thinking about sketching this as a 'deleted scene' (every issue has one) as bonus content for Patrons later.

Well, after going back through the entire last issue, my thoughts on looking at this page are a bit more complicated than they initially were. At first I was just considering whether that root is really an aspect of the Krudzu that I forgot or if you made it up, but now I'm looking a bit more closely at Sally.
If she's a requirement for Eggman to initiate the Genesis Wave somehow, that means she'll have to accomplish her mission in Soumerca and rejoin Eggman up north. So in other words, she can't be captured during the attack on her parents, and that leaves us with the possibility that she kills them or fails her mission. And it all has to happen within the next day or so since Eggman's Gensis Wave will be completed and he isn't the most patient of villains.

The Krudzu root is my own device. The whole robot is covered in vines, so I needed a specific part for Silver to focus on salvaging. Creative license.

Another excellently drawn page. Have to admit, the Krudzu being a natural method to de-Roboticize Sally...never considered that before.

That makes absolutely no sense, it's not like the comic hasn't had crossovers before, but there have been several points were some of the characters were captured and or roboticized. That did't make them useless damsels then and it doesn't make them damsels now.

No it really didn't. After they were deroboticized they all contributed to the final battle.
Besides, the Genesis Wave was the only way to reset the current continuity. Especially since various other characters had to be removed from the comic and there was no real in-universe way to do that without it coming off as ridiculous and bizarre.

They were ambushed and roboticized by the villains. That's happened to Sonic's friends plenty of times before. The idea of them being made useless doesn't really hold any weight. Once again, especially since they contributed to the final battle.

Actually I think Archie was already on the ropes when the first crossover took place. They tried to salvage what was left and ended up dooming the series through sheer drivel when they could have read the writing on the wall and concluded the series with some flair. My personal opinion is that the crossovers also destroyed Megaman. The first one was... okay. The second was completely pointless, useless and meaningless; it added nothing and just took away from the continuity of the Megaman story. I think they only managed to spit out two or three issues after Worlds Unite. That's pretty telling.
