Tokamon: From Japanese tokage, lizard.
Paleomon: From Paleozoic, a prehistoric period referring to a period between 570 and 230 million years ago.
Iguamon: From iguanodon, one of the first discovered dinosaurs.
Velocimon: From velociraptor, a popular kind of dinosaur; the 'veloci' refers to its high running speed.
Triassimon: From Triassic, referring to a prehistoric period wherein dinosaurs began to appear.
WarTriassimon: From English war + Triassic (see above).
