These are a great concept! To make it more digimon like tho, I'd say make the change between the forms more obvious. For example the in-training and rookie's only difference is some spikes and a mane, where in real digimon the change is drastic. For example koromon to agumon = disembodied head to t-rex.

Oh gosh I want a Sampamon. So dang adorable! Lovin the use of colors on this. You did well by keeping them to the minimum so it doesn't overload the character.

I have to say, I love the darker scheme much better for Sampamon~ Really pumps up the bright colors and stand out much better c:
