oh yeah! the comic also features what you could call a Victorian Aperture Science.
"castle Heterodyne: a hideous uncontrolled death trap"
a castle built by homicidal insane super scientists, one of which decided it was a good idea to give it a personality. it is littered with medical labs, because the owners 'never liked to have to go to far to deal with irksome house guests' and it has, as part of an extensive security system, machines called "fun-sized mobile agony and death dispensers" (fun-sized as in the size of a grizzly bear, which considering what is in the rest of the comic really is fun sized)

oh they are, they are! lots of fun has been had with the fun-sized mobile agony and death dispensers!
the castle likes to have all sorts of fun... like dropping people down bottomless pits or dropping large slabs of rock on top of people. especially if those people are heroes.
Minion: "But weren't the Heterodyne Boys (last owners of the castle) Heroes?"
Castle: "yes... they didn't come home much."
"NO, really?"
"Oh but we had such fun when they did!"
