What is the recipe for success, fame and fortune?

1. Register an account at MySpace.
2. Take a shirtless picture of yourself standing in a bathroom striking a macho pose, using a crappy phone camera. Bonus points for angled perspective and partly obscured view.
3. Upload the pic.
4. ???
5. PROFIT!

I re-rendered this scene at least 20 times... First I didn't like the CG bathroom I had in my collection, so I had to resort to using the background picture and had to match the lighting, which took a while. Then I suddenly decided I want the boy to have moist skin, so I had to re-render everything again. Finally, I lowered the quality of the pic to simulate the phone cam, so here we go

The recent (2011-present) pics were mostly done with a combination of Daz Studio 3 and Luxrender. Older pics like this one were done in Daz Studio 3 only. DS3 is for building scenes and rendering simpler ones. Luxrender is for more realistic pictures and more complex scenes.

I did a similar picture last December (called "The Social Web" ), but yours is better. I like how you gave it a more authentic "MySpace" look. Clever use of the props in the foreground too.
