My brother made a Lego Delorean time machine with Doc and Marty Lego figures once, only smaller (six studs wide, not eight like yours) so it would fit the Lego roadplates he also has. It fitted both figures, the doors opened, and he devised a way to set the wheels in flight-mode.
But, alas, after lots of play, he wanted to star another project, so he took it apart.
He later was able to build the A-Team van (complete with the original members, opening rear doors, correct 2-tone paint, and sliding doors among other features!). While devising to build Face's 1983 Chevy Corvette, he realized that he could build Speed Racer's original Mach 5 (4 years before the movie and Lego sets came out!). It has all the features and seats both Speed and Trixie (not Chim-Chim and Spritle, because there's no trunk space
