Description
I never even realized Edward Gorey lived in Mass until he died in 2000 and his house became a museum. I went back a few weeks ago and they're working on a 6 foot tall topiary of this guy, right now it's just an empty steel frame wearing converse and a scarf. Why didn't I think of that?Related content

It breaks my heart everytime I think about him being dead. It seems like the Heart Attack has taken so mant great creators. Him and Douglas Adams. But I'm all sad rambling now.
I looove this. For I love the doubtful guest.

That dude always gave me the creeps...but then again, I liked being scared. Nice work; simple but great.

Glad to see another one who appreciates Edward Gorey's work. I have the first Amphigorey Book wth that story "The Doubtful Guest". My favorite is "The Gashlycrumb Tinies". What got you interested in Gorey?

Thanks for the Fav! It's just compelling artwork, I think the first time I saw it was on a John Bellairs book.

His style is simplistic, but when you read the stories, the illustrations alone just seem to tell more. They help convey the mood so much better.

What surprised me about Edward Gorey was that he was American. I always thought he was British! There was something about his work that made me think of Victorian England.
