It's a picture of my aunt when she was young infront of my now-deceased grandma's house which my family doesn't own anymore. Wow that made the situation grim didn't it?

thats interesting. sort of reminds me of a film i saw ages ago about a couple of kids who get sucked into their tv and into a 1930s programme or something. all black and white. their mission (and they apparently chose to accept it) was to make it all colour, thus setting the people 'free'. So allegorical eh? anyways, i think im getting sucked into your picture now sooooooo argghhhhhhhh...
*ding ding ding, let me out*
etc.
its been a long day

I agree. It was hard for me to find something to do with the photos. But I knew I wanted to do something with them.

really lovely!
I wonder, how do you "stretch" the picture? on the right side? cuz I'm searching how to do that since a long time.. can't find it..
take care

What I do is select the entire column of pixels on the right...then Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V it. Then Just Ctrl+J it as many times as you need.
Thanks for liking it. And thanks for the watch.

I'm glad to see you experimenting with something else then circles this time (not that I didn't like them but something new is something good ).
the edgy, fat pixels held together by a rounded frame is ingenious. but somehow I miss a graphical element that brings in coherence between the two photos (polaroids?). it was once your big strength to link every tiny bit in your artworks together.
I love the random positioning of the lone pixels you sprinnkled all across the piece. masterful!
the blurred continuation of the eastern side of the photos is brilliant, once again.
you're the man, man.

oh ... and the relationship between the two photos? It's the same woman. She loves animals.
I thought I was pretty successful in making this one image instead of two, but maybe it could use a little something extra now that you bring it to my attention. Any suggestions?

i love the pixels on the left.
and the pixel stretch on the right works for me... although it works much better on the top image than the bottom.
(i think it is the stretch on the grass bit that seems different than everything else going on in this image)
wonderful work again, nick!

fab photos. the colorplate off to the right would be some fantastic exteriour house paint options for all the people involved.

Hmm, that's an idea. Create color palettes from designs for housing developments. We are gonna be rich!

delicious. i don't quite like the pixel stretches on the right, and though i understand their intent i think the pixellation on the left suffices. otherwise wonderful job; beautiful pictures beautifully composed. well done

I definately see what you mean. Thanks for the feedback. For some reason I never even though of not adding the pixel stretches...even though I added them after the pixels.
