Description Magnemites, are seemingly robotic pokemons that feed almost exclusively through electric currents. They are commonly found around powerplants and inside caves with strong magnetic fields as they are easily attracted to electric fields. Electric sacks inside their bodies are connected to their top antennas and wings which can release electric charges when threatened. By charging electromagnetic waves through their wings, they can disrupt the ground's magnetic field and simulate a small zero-gravity area around them, allowing their flight.

When mature enough, a Magnemite will be able to link up to two more Magnemites to its electric sack creating an even stronger electric field, enough to dry up all moisture and raise the temperature 3.6 degrees Fahrenheit in the vicinity. This mutually linked Magnemites is now called a Magneton.

When exposed to certain magnetic fields, Magnetons undergo a drastic change, permanently linking the Magnemites through their electric sacks, thus turning them into a Magnezone. They are rarely seen in the wild as this process has only been observed once and other forced attempts have failed. When fully developed, Magnezone's electric sack starts to protrude through its upper antenna, revealing a yellowish coloration. This enables Magenzones to spike a massive electric charge up to five million volts in one shock. Though timid and non predatory like its younger stages, Magnezones can be territorial and should always be taken with caution when encountered in the wild.

I really like this, but I do wonder how you explain the steel-type. I'm always looking for different renditions of these sorts of things.

haha me too  the steel type would probably come from the structure of their shells evolving to be super sensitive to electricity so they know where to find food

Brilliant idea to make them arthropods with eye-like markings on their foreheads!

i was going for rolled millipede + rhino beetle head + insect wings

Oh, well I guess that's better than just saying they're a special kind of bat
