Description Ah hah! I finished it! I even finished it before my girl got back from Maine, like I vowed I would...to myself.

In any case, bask in the glory of my first non-pokΓ©mon Nintendo creature analysis. I actually think this guy came out really well. Despite fixing his ridiculous proportions, he still has a very distinct Koopa flavor. He looks like a turtle person...which is what Koopas are.

Now, as some of you may have noticed, I refer to this particular model as the "common koopa". I have decided that, because of their distinct differences, Boswer and his kin must be a different species, or sub-species, which I have creatively named the "king koopa". There are probably others, but the most Koopas fall into this particular group, including Magikoopas (koopas who train in sorcery), Koopa Troopas (koopas who are just ordinary infantry), and Hammer Bros. (koopas that work in teams of two (usually) and use hammers as weapons). It's all a race/class kind of deal, if you follow.

In any case, I hope you all like. Leave me some lovin'...or hatin'...just tell me what you think.

Oh...and before any admins get any crazy plans to mess with this, I'm going to say, "Koopas are from Mario, and therefore are the intellectual property of Nintendo"

You've taken the removable shell concept that always bugged me as a kid and flawlessly rationalized it!

Nice work. They look they could belong in WoW as one of the playable races XD

Sorry man, but the gf's place has dialup. Lame as all hell. The net is hit or miss at best.

Regardless, I'll be back at school tomorrow night so I can have my wonderful T3 line in order. Unless the incoming freshman fuck the network over again..

Oh, and I got a second scanner that's a bit smaller but it's handier. Not sure about the quality yet, but so long as as it do everything it says it does I'm cool. I guess my sis can have the older, larger one.

If you ever use the "word" "coo'" again, I will remove your tongue and give it to somebody who will utilize it better.

have you ever done creature analysis on the other SMB creatures?

Not yet...I plan to, over time (this is a long long long term project), but my next "photorealistically rendered nintendo creature analysis" is Snubbull from the PokΓ©mon series. Who knows what may come after that?

Very interesting! I'm a big fan of this kind of analysis. I always wondered how Koopas could remove their shells even though the shells seem to "grow" with the Koopa, and your theory makes sense.

Thanks. They're kind of a weird combination of turtles, humans, and hermit crabs.

The whole shell mechanic works really well, but how do they fly? Jet-Packs, A synthetic shell you mentioned, Stuffing a bird down its shell?

Again...read my reponse to Pinkemon...

You're well on the right track though.

What Pinkemon said...how do Paratroopas gain those wings? And how do they fly? Their body certainly doesn't seem suitable for such a task. Nonetheless, great job! I cannot wait for your next analysis!

Read my response to Pinkemon's comment...and that will give you a brief answer...

Thanks for the props!

You did great. ^_^ And.., eh, I can't say much else since I just woke up and my brain is still tired.
You explain things nicely, like always.

The strange thing is, I believe that in earlier Mario games, the Koopa's would sometimes walk on all fours. (I'm not sure where they did, though)

And will you make a seperate piece for the Paratroopa? I mean, how they managed to sprout wings and lose them so quickly?

GnooroopoftheGerudo In reply to pinkemon [2007-08-21 04:11:59 +0000 UTC]

I personally believe the paratroopa to technically be the same species as the common Koopa Troopa, and the wings are just part of their synthetic shell (as I mentioned in the above piece). That said, at some point, I'll probably do paratroopas...but it will be more of a class analysis than a creature analysis, if that makes any sense.

The same thing would apply for Wizzrobes, Magikoopas, Space Pirates, Iron Knuckles, PokΓ©mon breeders, Hammer Bros., Mad Scrubs, Chargin' Chucks, Dark Nuts, and even Lakitu.

To answer your question...yes...I plan to down the line...though how far down the line is a mystery at this point.
