This is from a scene in the movie "Underworld". It's an excellent movie for any of you who haven't seen it; I highly recomend it. This is where Selene (Kate Beckinsale) kisses Michael (Scott Speedman) in order to distract him so she can chain him to a chair. Young love, eh? Later on they fall in love and all that, but this is a scene while they're still in the "I would rather kill you but I need you so I can save the world" stage. Figures.

I wanted to try and reduce a picture to just black and white; in ways it was easier than I'd thought, in other ways it wasn't. My biggest problem was Michael's/Scott's face, because in my reference photo it was a darker midtone. I ended up fudging most of the lines there for composition's sake. This is also my first voluntary venture into drawing the male figure. Let's say previous experiences were... traumatic to say the least. *shudders at the memory of figure drawing class* I figured I couldn't go wrong with a good looking boy like Speedman

Medium is Pen and Sharpie on Trace Paper (so i could see my pencil reference drawing). Aprrox. Time it took: 5 hours
