It has pretty much been confirmed that Spike will never have wings when he grows up, but otherwise this picture is perfect. Peewee is one handsome phoenix.

I don't know about that. Every single other dragon on the show has had wings, and the older dragons taunted his lack of wings by asking if he was just hatched or if his mother carried him there, which strongly suggests that they assume his mother has wings at least, and possibly that being wingless might be a feature of being young.
In all honesty, the show can do whatever they like moving forward. If simple greed can make a 30 lb. baby dragon sprout into something with the mass of Godzilla inside of a day, who knows what might be able to make a dragon sprout wings?

Actually, one other dragon than Spike hasn't had wings, the one with the massive tail who threw Spike against the crater wall when they tail-wrestled. That means that being wingless isn't unique, but it certainly is rare, and Spike happens to be one of those dragons who don't have wings. (Don't ask me how that dragon with the huge tail moved during the migration.) Also, even if the other dragons assumed that Spike didn't have wings because he was just hatched, we have to remember that Spike is at least a few years old, though we can't determine exactly how old. Therefore, if he were to grow wings, he probably would have done it already. Greed might make a dragon grow to a massive size, but it won't give it wings like we've seen, and I doubt nothing else will either. Of course, Twilight might try to come up with a spell that would give Spike wings, but somehow I doubt that the effect would be permanent.

Well, again... He's a magical cartoon dragon who changed massively through mere greed because he's a magical cartoon dragon. His body doesn't seem to obey any of the laws of physics or biology. For all we know, puberty gives him wings. Or love. Or trying to hold in a sneeze. Or drinking pony blood. Or the ringing of the bell on George Bailey's Christmas tree.
Trying to claim that anything about his physiology is obviously set in stone after the massive changes we've witnessed is kind of pointless. The end decider if he's ever going to have wings is if the people making the show want to give him wings.
