Here is the the cover art for the Deborah Project's actual book design. It may change, but this was more of a proof of concept for the text etc... I wanted her to be front and center and the predominant character in the design, but also with Barak alongside, which is why I added a bit of light and shadow to set him back just a tad. I wanted to make her design a bit more forward as well, relating the meaning of her name, "bee" to include a yellow/black motif while also being a bit subtle (not striped) and since she was also a warrior, giving her a bow, which I opted to make decorated black (aka: a stinger). So a bit of a play on her name, but also meaningful and interesting.

Regarding Barak, I did borrow a lot of the look from Joshua, as he would have only been a few generations removed from him, so the weaponry, design and look does take from those earlier visual elements.

This was a great project, Phyllis is a wonderful author, so I can't wait to see how this looks published! Her books are available on Amazon.
