Yes, I know I'm very very behind in my messages, if you're wondering why, check out my latest journal, but I will be trying to catch up on at least the deviations in my box this weekend. In the meantime, my friend is very involved with a theater group that is putting on a production of The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams. Theater has always been a huge part of my life, so I had told her, if they ever needed artwork for something, to let me know and I'd do it for free if I knew enough in advance. Well, she called in the card this time and asked for something they could put on their 4"x6" postcard mailers.If you know the play, you might get the iconography, but the director specifically wanted blue roses (Jim's name for Laura) and I specifically wanted them to be still practically buds, but already starting to wilt. Hopefully, the director's ok with that

i dont know when you are going to get this but i would really like to use this painting for my book that i am writing for a second grader who i think would really like this picture. i will not be taking credit for this pic. and your name will be going under the artist column that i am going to have. i am writing about a fairy who doesn't want her roses to go away and all of them are dieing* because winter is coming. so i would really like it if you would let me use this! thank you!

heh, it remind minds me of the blue rose of forgetfulness from the aladdin cartoon tv series. Episode was titled Forget Me Lots.

AHHHHH Blue roses! Me LOVE blue roses!! Me IS a blue rose!! well..sorta...I'm a rose, but i'm a specific shade of blue I guess...I still claime the entire spectrum of blue. My aunt's a specific red, but she can have the whole color spectrum if she wants, I'm good with blue!

Yeah, I gotta say, I hadn't expected that kind of response on this one at all, but after geting home at midnight after putting in another 4 hours of overtime and an hour and a half stuck on a freeway that was closed down to one lane, it was a very welcome surprise

incredibly beautiful as all your work. I love the roses. I'm not familiar with the play, but the idea of young roses already wilting is just so appealing to me. especially if they're blue.. blue roses generally seem so... artificial somehow? but I think you made them look more realistic because they're wilting... it's a beautiful image, honestly

do you know the flower store KaBloom? they have their own signature blue rose... i think its call the wizard's rose but i could have completely made that up. anyway. this just reminded me of that. beautiful picture, they are lucky to have you doing their artwork

Absolutely beautiful piece. ^_^ And I do recall reading this play in one of my high school classes. And I certainly remember enough to recognize the wonderful symbolism in it.
