Description
More playing around with the style of the brilliant Japanese illustrator, Yoshitaka Amano (don't know who he is? Look him up in a web search, you won't regret it). As before, this is not precisely his style, but my tribute to it.Pictured of course is InuYasha about to be enveloped in the Backlash Wave or Bakuryuuha, whichever term you prefer. I try not to do this, but I do reccomend the full view on this one. I'm not sure if I'll do a color version of this piece, but we'll see what I decide down the road.
The character of InuYasha is copyright Rumiko Takahashi

Yes, but no the same way I did Yuna. I'm thinking of actually breaking out the gauches for this one.

the style is certainly amano... but I guess it does need color (well, that's just me ^_^'). Beautiful job on this... even Inuyasha's facial features are true to the style

Oh wow You've definitely got a good handle on the style. This looks lovely, you did a wonderful job on the fluid swirlyness, for want of a better term

Wow...all I could do was stare at it. It's beautiful. I think the black and white is great and holds it's own really well but if you decide to color it you"ll only make it better. Nice job.

Not with my hair. Especially after I've washed it---it looks like I stood in a puddle and "frenched" a light socket! (That sounds like something Megavolt would do, the lovable little weirdo. )

lol, we'll see what I have time for It takes a lot of layers of different pencil values to build its way up, so it's a lot different than I'm used to, but we'll see. Definately, I do want to do a Seshomaru and a Lulu.

VERY cool. I love the Amano-esque feel of Inuyasha here. Oh...I wonder what an Amano Sesshomaru would look like. O.o

I really love the flow and movement through this. THis is one that I honestly can't say whether it would be worth it to color it....the black and white lends such a quality to it that I wonder how it would take to the color...I guess there's really only one way to find out. But either way, love this.

Yeah, if I colored it, it would be a seperate piece, probably done more tradionally than Yuna was.

You mimic his style very well. I have to admit, I was not sure how you were going to pull this off when I saw the title, but I am very pleasantly surprised! Great movement, and the whispy quallity of his drawing really shows through, while still capturing the essence of Rumiko Takahashi's character. Well done.
