Well, I said that closer to the movie release I'd do some of the other characters. I thought for Victoria, it would be appropriate to have her engaged in some Vitorian task, and then it hit me, there's nothing more properly ladylike and Victorian than needlepoint, but of course, with a properly Burton twist
Victor will be the next one up, I'm thinking next month to space things out, and then if I'm figuring things right from what I've seen, one more character portrait in September just in time for the release.
Medium: Linework done with Copic multiliner and brush pens, painting done in Painter 8

Oh, the Warner Bros. stores all closed about 4 years ago now. The Disney Stores are about to do the same. Some of them have already closed and what are left are going to be owned by someone else and vastly different, not for the better, either.

The shading in the skirt is very impressive! Works very well with your lines. >^-^< I also like how those same colours are melty in the flowers.
The only thing that distracts me is the stark black outlines of the portraits. They seem to be trying to appear more in the foreground than the flowers in the border. I think maybe if the background colour in the portraits were grey or a aimilar tone, they wouldn't leap out as much.
But all in all, another lovely piece! I wanna see this movie! And I am jealous...gettin to see the puppets and all...

good idea. I was going for the sillouette look, so I just went ahead and blacked them in, but it probably would look better to use the paint instead. I'll give it a shot when I have some time

...since I'm doing comic book series on a fashion designer, you don't mind if...say...I use an idea related to that as a chapter divider?? It'd be very different, maybe with ruffles or crosstiching or something like that, but I feel the need to ask, since it's basically inspired by this.
