Ultraman Z is a supporting character in Ultraman M/L/V. Similar to his canonical counterpart, he was trained by Ultraman Zero as a rookie in the Space Garrison. However, there are a multitude of differences between his canonical counterpart and this variation.

Weapon-Based Abilities

  • Z Riser: Z can use his transformation device as a weapon.

    • Lightning Generade: Using Cosmos, Nexus, and Mebius' powers, Z summons lightning bolts to strike down the enemy.

    • M78 Style Shining Tornado Slash: Using Zoffy, Jack, and Father of Ultra's powers, the Z Riser unleashes an energy blade to fight with. Later on, Z creates a whirlwind to blow the opponent away, and throws a buzzsaw disc at them.

  • Z Lance Arrow: A Lance/Bow hybrid weapon that Z uses in combat.

    • Lance Cutter: A slicing attack.

    • Arrow Shot: An energy projectile fired from the lance's tip.

    • Z Lance Fire: Z draws the letter Z with flames, which he then launches towards the opponent, burning them alive.

    • Z Ice Arrow: Z creates a large energy bow, which he uses to launch an arrow that freezes its target.

Special Techniques

  • Zestium Ray: Z's signature Ultra Beam, fired from Z's arms in the '+' position.

  • Z Slugger: Z fires a multitude of energy projectiles from his crest.

  • Z Aias: Z creates a series of circular barriers. It is named after the Greek hero Ajax, who had a seven-layered shield.



—Alpha Edge—

Weapon-Based Abilities

  • Alpha Chain Blade: Z connects his two Sluggers using an energy string and uses them like nunchucks.


Special Techniques

  • Zestium Maser: A high-temperature beam of pinpoint accuracy fired from Z's Beam Lamp. It is based on Seven's Emerium Beam, Zero's Emerium Slash, and Leo's Ultra Shot.

Physical Techniques

  • Space Martial Arts: Z Alpha Edge uses the same fighting style as Zero, who learned it from Leo, who in turn trained under Ultraseven. 

    • Alpha Punch: A basic punch attack.

    • Alpha Kick: A basic kick attack.

      • Alpha Burn Kick: A flaming kick attack.

Other Techniques

  • Enhanced Senses: After following Shota Hebikura's advice, Haruki and Z's increased concentration has allowed them to detect various opponents without relying on their eyes. This can be used to counter abilities such as invisibility and teleportation.

  • Barrier: Z can erect a barrier to block attacks.


—Beta Smash—

Special Techniques

  • Beta Crescent Slash: A slicing energy attack, based on Ace's Vertical Guillotine.

  • Beta Arrow Swing: Z creates a rope of energy which can be used to swing around and throw the opponent. It is based on Taro's Ultra Chain.

  • Beta Laser: An energy beam fired from Z's crest, based on Ace's Punch Laser.

  • Space Z: By focusing Energy on his Ultra Holes to open them and then receiving energy from another Ultra, Z forms a powerful energy sphere that he throws at the opponent, based on Ace’s Space Q.


Physical Techniques

  • Beta Punch: A basic punch attack.

    • Beta Lariat: Z tackles the opponent using his arm, knocking them down.

    • Zestium Upper: Z performs a powerful uppercut punch on the opponent while his body glows with energy, usually after throwing the enemy into the air and jumping after them. It can destroy a monster in one blow. Based on Ultraman's Ultra Punch, Ace's Ace Kick, and Taro's Flying Atomic Punch.

  • Beta Kick: A basic kick attack.

    • Swallow Kick: A flying kick attack performed after several mid-air somersaults, based on and named after Taro's signature kick attack.


—Gamma Future—

Special Techniques

  • Zestium Drive: Z forms twin energy whips from his hands to strike the opponent. Based on Tiga's Tiga Slicer, Dyna's Dyna Slash, and Gaia's Photon Edge.

  • Gamma Illusion: Z summons glowing projections of Tiga, Dyna and Gaia to join him in battle and fire their beam techniques.

  • Gamma Freezer: A freezing ray, based on Tiga's Tiga Freezer.

  • Gamma Energy Bomb: Z can create energy spheres in his hands to attack opponents with. Occasionally, he has used two at once, one to mesmerize his opponent and then the second to attack.

  • Gamma Shuffle: A variety of energy techniques.

    • Energy Projectiles: Z is able to fire a large variety of energy projectiles.

    • Binding Rings: Z releases multiple projectiles from his hands which surround the target and bind them.

    • Psychic Wave: Z releases an energy wave from his hand which allows him to telekinetically move objects.

Physical Techniques

  • Gamma Punch: A basic punch attack.

  • Gamma Kick: A basic kick attack.

    • Energy Kick: A kicking attack where Z's foot is charged with energy.

  • Gamma Beam Chop: A chopping attack where Z's hands are charged with energy.


Other Techniques

  • Gamma Reduction: Z can shrink himself.

  • Barrier: Z conjures a purple barrier to block attacks.

    • Gamma Aias: Z creates a series of circular barriers. It is named after the Greek hero Ajax, who had a seven-layered shield.

  • Gamma Beam Mantle: An energy cape on Z's back, which can be used both offensively and defensively.

  • Gamma Through: Z creates a portal to go to another location. This can also transport him into the body of another being.

  • Gamma Miracle Hold: Z conjures rings of light to bind the enemy.


—Delta Rise Claw—

Weapon-Based Abilities

  • Beliarok: A sword with an arm guard themed after Belial's head. It is capable of speech and intelligent thought.

    • Reversal: The Beliarok can be used to absorb an enemy's attack before redirecting it back at them.

    • Energy Slash: Z can unleash a purple energy slash from the Beliarok.

    • Deathcium Splitter: A beam fired from the Beliarok’s eyes. It can be used to attack or temporarily split two fused beings.

    • Deathcium Slash: Z slashes a "Z" through the opponent's body with the Beliarok.

      • Another variation has Z trace a "Z" in the air, then thrust the sword to generate an energy drill with which he impales the opponent.

      • A third variation is a slashing energy wave from the sword, powerful enough to split an alien from its host and tear open a dimensional rift.

      • A fourth variation involves an energy blade being extended from the existing blade of the Beliarok, allowing the blade to be increased in length.

    • Deathcium Fang: A massive apparition of Belial's head is conjured and bites down on the opponent.

    • Deathcium Claw: Z impales the Beliarok into the ground. It summons two giant copies of Belial’s hands to attack the enemy.


Special Techniques

  • Delta Storm: Z is able to generate a golden energy tornado.

  • Delta Breaker: A powerful energy beam fired from Z's left palm.

  • Delta Cross Shot: A yellow beam fired from Z's Beam Lamp.

  • Delta Giga Ripper: A golden energy slicer fired from both of Z's arms, based on Geed's Wrecking Ripper.

Physical Techniques

  • Void Resistance: Z is strong enough to withstand being pulled inside of monsters like Greeza. As a result, he can fight them physically and actually affect their non-existent bodies.

  • Delta Cutting: Z unleashes light from his arm crystals to attack.

  • Delta Ray Claw: Z uses his hands to claw at the opponent, releasing red streaks of energy.

  • Delta Beat Kick: A flying kick that unleashes golden energy on impact.

Other Techniques

  • Z Clear Wave: Z unleashes a beam from his eyes, which allows him to see through objects.

  • Delta Defenser: An energy barrier made of multiple circles.


—Omega Final—

Weapon-Based Abilities

  • Omega Infinite Calibur: Z conjures a duo of swords made purely of golden light to fight an opponent.

  • Infinite Gigaria: In a similar manner to his other forms’ usage of the Z Riser as a weapon, Z can use the Infinite Gigaria as a weapon.

    • Gigarian Ultimate: Using King’s, Legend’s, and Noa’s powers, Z conjures a massive energy sphere, comparable in size to the Earth’s moon, which is then shot at the opponent.

    • Gigarian Blast: Using Great’s, Powered’s, and Ribut’s powers, Z fires an energy beam accompanied by a multitude of slicers at the opponent.

Special Techniques

  • Zestium Infinite Burst: Z first conjures a massive energy shield, with a similar structure to the Z Aias, above himself. He then charges energy into it to fire billions of beams of energy that quickly combine into a single energy vortex. This vortex is shown to have a diameter comparable to that of the land area of a large city, and is incredibly powerful.

  • Omega Giga Vortex: Inherited from Delta Rise Claw, Z is able to generate golden energy tornadoes.

  • Omega Infinite Ripper: Inherited from Delta Rise Claw, Z is able to fire a golden energy slicer from both arms.

  • Omega Giga Drive: Inherited from Gamma Future, Z conjures twin energy whips to attack an opponent.

  • Omega Giga Maser: Inherited from Alpha Edge, Z fires a high-temperature beam of pinpoint accuracy from his crest.
