The Imperial barrage had just started. Just over hill a bit was an entrenched Terran position that had bogged down the imperial army. So much so that the enlisted were brought forward. The men watched the first few rounds come down from UAV coordinated artillery. They had friendlies up ahead but if they kept their IR tags up and kept their heads down the UAV would be sure not to highlight their area for a barrage. The soldiers begun to gather for the move. Armor brought up under the cover of the smoke and dust being kicked up.

Men said a silent prayer as the medics began laying out litters and bringing up medical supplies. The UAV's kept their distance from the terran line, as the Feds had a good amount of AA and counter UAV weapons running, and the Imperials had a few of their own prepared just the same. AA guns kept eyes on the skies, as the Terran airforce had not been brought to heel yet either.

Despite the noise, there was no additional sound fromt he men, aside from one or two NCO's shouting to get the men ready.

The combat on Halle had been fierce. The Terrans were keen on keeping the world, and every kilometer of land was a bloodbath. Tere was enough surface-to-orbit weapons and AA on the planet to consistently ensure that the imperials could never get accurate fire down ont he remaining positions, and enough of the Terran army had been trapped in the siege that they still had plenty of reserves to support their lines. It became a brutal affair for dominance on the surface.
