Description Cover artwork for a collection of short stories I am writing about the adventures of Bouragner Felpz, set roughly a hundred years before the events of #AngeldevilManga , to be called A Study of Magic. The first of these stories I began in 2004, and am currently nearly finished with the tenth one. They will eventually be podcasted, and released as an audiobook, for which I desired some cover-like art.

This cover is a hodgepodge of different references from different stories, plus the three central characters: Corianne Birch, the narrator; Bouragner Felpz, the protagonist; and Abharus. (And Una; she is the black mass at the bottom of the picture.) The creature next to them is from story number 7, The Twisted Unicorn, and I can't tell you more than that.

8.25"x12" Prismacolor pencil on illustration paper. The September (I'm lat again!) illustration for my Black Book Project , this appears on page 121 of my Black Book .

I almost didn't see Una. I thought she's was some black moss or vines or something. She is....creepy looking. Is that the Purple Mage there? Looks good

I love this, especially Corianne's facial expression. You can tell she's thinking!

Oh cool! Somehow this picture reminds me of the Crestomanci books, even before I read the comments, though I did recognize Felpz and Abharus. I very much look forward to these stories.

Thanks!

Yes, Felpz and Chrestomanci do have certain similarities; most of which are coincidental. I was actually drawing most of my inspiration from Sherlock Homes. Maybe the three of them form some odd trifecta.
