Description
First Last NextFirst off, I'm going to do something I usually wouldn't and upload this before my official beta has taken a look, as she's unavailable. I'll probably be uploading a fix-er-up later.
Sooo now we are talking about Stormy Road to Canterlot. The thing that disappointing me most is actually how the movie handled Grubber, because I loved him in the book.
Maaaaaaaan I don't think I'm ever going to want to draw Twili's flipping balcony again after this chapter is done.

I really like this kind of panel with the references to the book: I can remember exactly those phrases when I've read them! Your comic help me imagine those moments in the book (I definitely got the attack to Hippogriffia)!
I also liked the one with highlights of the movie in page 4!

I have to mention that I am not a MLP fan, but you have really caught my interest about this universe. I may,
even, see the movie, in the end...!
Good Job with all these pages, so far. I am sure that all MLP fans would want to see this comic of yours (maybe including me as well),
so keep it up!

Yay, thankyou! I'm so glad to inspire your interest!
I feel like I should tell you that a fair bit of this comes from the prequel book The Stormy Road to Canterlot, especially this page. Tempest is great in the movie, but IMO it's the book's backstory that makes her fantastic.
If you do watch it let me know what you think!

Maybe I will, but I will wait till it comes in DVD or something because, in my country, it is still playing at the cinemas!

I agree the movie should have done more with Grubbee, but I did think the movie experience was enhanced a bit if you did read the book and comic. Gives you more information on the new characters and their back story

A book was made before the movie, very interesting. Didn't know they did an official book like that. Still this is a wonderful piece, great work can't wait for the next page.

Yup! It's very good to! Makes Tempest much more interesting and redeemable. I gave a link to someone else in the comments if you want to look it up, or I'll try to remember to link to the amazon in the description of next page, since I figured it was wider knowledge than it apparently was and I'll be pulling rather heavily on it for this chapter.
Thankyou! Next page is already pretty much a finished flat in fact pretty sure all the hardest pages of this chapter are done, so hopefully the rest will be much smoother sailing.

I haven't actually read the book -- how does it handle Grubber?
I agree that he could have been written better in the movie. Most of the time, he just felt very... redundant. Like he didn't have any narrative purpose beyond being the obligatory comic relief guy on the bad guys' team.

He serves as the forst one to make Tempy see value in herself again and was actually pretty good emotional support to her. He also definitely considered her a friend, even if she didn't return the favor.

Ah. Yes, that sounds like a character I could have gotten invested in.
Now that I think about it, it looks like that may have been a recurring issue with the movie -- I think the Storm King had the same problems. I read the prequel comics, and he was a pretty interesting villain there. He was sort of cheerfully, ruthlessly pragmatic, the kind of villain who's got everything figured out rather meticulously, does everything for a reason and doesn't go out of his way to be cruel -- or to be kind, either. I was sort of disappointed to see him get... sort of watered down in the actual movie.

I'm working through the comic and I see what you mean. I did enjoy him in the movie though, but I consider him motivation for Tempest more than the big bad, because she's the one who is actively the bad guy. And that's okay to me, she's my best pony by a mile.

Done with the balcony?? ahahahhahahahahaha!! you fool! It must be drawn in every frame!! ......if Tempest doesn't smash it first......if....if could work.

hahahha., fair warning. The reader's Tempest voice is food, but she tends to use this squeaky voice that can be quite grating, and also it takes a while to acclimate to her at first.
Squeeing is always acceptable. Glad you like it.
Hmm, I wonder if balcony rubble would be easier to draw...
