Hiya everyone~!I recently joined #Artgermination which is a pretty cool group for pushing yourself in becoming a digital artist. Every now and then, they do a theme challenge. This time, the theme is to pick an existing character you like and make a mecha version of them.
The natural choice would have been Mecha Sonic, right? So I figured I'd try someone else. I've always wondered how the characters would look in a Mecha form so I chose Shadow because I haven't drawn him in a while
When I joined the group, the challenge was going to end in 3 days. Never have I worked on something so fast before. I was so determined to get it finished in time lol. Probably because the idea of Mecha Shadow came into my head instantly~!

I love it! I used it in my Theme OST for the mechas I hope you don't mind. I gave you credit! The Glow in the back could have maybe a red or black but think you made the right choice making it white/blue cause it makes the rest of Mecha Shadows colors stand out. This reminds me if like Metal Sonic and Mecha Shadow combined. This would be the result. Seems lke he would be ready to kick some butt because he's not too heavy. Pretty speedy, then again if he is Mecha Shadow I doubt weight has nothing to do with it.

Vision: At first glance it's already an eye candy, visually it looks really appealing with using a good amount of the red which feels dark and aggressive. The eyes are sold to me cause they're just awesome!
Originality: Though Shadow is mainstream, at least it wasn't like a sonic redesign since I've seen so many of those so. I'm a big fan of mecha stuff and mecha parts and I really like the design you made for him around the big bulky shoulders and forearms. It would be cool if you made it more neon lights on the emerald icon, personally I would use blue cause blue and red is my favorite contrast but I know why you got the color.
Technique: I feel the character could use some more shine, mostly on the head cause it't the main focal point. Other than that you're coloring is spot on. There's one area I feel a little about and it's his muzzle. It just feels flat to me. Maybe if you brought up his cheeks a bit more cause I know you're going for the dont fuck with me face but it shouldnt kill the feel if you brought up the sides of the muzzle up just to give it some cheeks.
Impact: Overall this is one of my favorites, love the design, I always love your style. Hopefully I made a good critique. I can see better on other work than myself xD

Haha, yea. I wish I did more to it but I was working with a tight timeframe, if it wasn't for that. I would have spent more time on it instead of rushing it so much xD

i think in the shadow the hedgehog game they might have had something similar with being able to use several mecha hedgehogs.

ThIs pretty freakin awesome , Really nice work on this, it gives off a great effect of the glare that is so strongly enforced in the eyes . This seems like something I'm going to try to make at some point . My main artworks is robians and looking up refs is how i happened across your piece here .
There are two things that bug me about it and they were both stated in the review already done on this piece but, The noes kinda kills me cause its so low it seems like it's pointed down the neck . The other thing is the contouring of the chest to the waist it is very well formed but for some reason that golden waist piece kinda throws it off . it's not bad it just kinda sticks out a lot.
Over all amazing job Keep up the good work.

Yea. This drawing could do with some proper perspective work but this was for a deadline that was within 3 days notice of me knowing so I had to rush it a bit between my free time and work.
I wasn't sure about the waist when it came to colour co-ordinating it but I figured it would help maintain the colour balance it had going on

Seriously, this is one of the best renditions or a metal/mecha Shadow I have EVER seen. I love his (or should I say its?) stare is very soul piercing, like you know you're gonna get mauled
