Hiya everyone~!I recently joined #Artgermination which is a pretty cool group for pushing yourself in becoming a digital artist. Every now and then, they do a theme challenge. This time, the theme is to pick an existing character you like and make a mecha version of them.
The natural choice would have been Mecha Sonic, right? So I figured I'd try someone else. I've always wondered how the characters would look in a Mecha form so I chose Shadow because I haven't drawn him in a while
When I joined the group, the challenge was going to end in 3 days. Never have I worked on something so fast before. I was so determined to get it finished in time lol. Probably because the idea of Mecha Shadow came into my head instantly~!

Your style reminds me of that of Patrick Spaziante, one of the artists for the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series by Archie comics. This piece in particular reminds me of his work on an issue called 'Mecha Madness' waaaaay back [link] , Especially the way he drew Mecha Sonic [link] and Mecha Knuckles [link] .

Nice technique of the shading lines on his head, and you have some nice shapes in there, like it's shoulders.

Heh, yeah. I seem to be a lot faster this way than digital painting. Would still like to get better at painting though, I love the effect of brush strokes 
Yeah. The group I submitted this too was founded by `Artgerm . He's got an incredible gallery and has an enormous number of painting styles so it made me want to venture out the same way!
