Description Third part of my concept art project this time with a bit of story telling:

"The Bar'hakish is an endemic species of the "Ocean of the Flying Whales", a wide desertic area known to be the graveyard of giant whales from the tales of old times. This reptilian creature can easily reach the 2m50 high for 250kg of muscles, bones and organs.[...] Though this creature presents all the attributes of a predator, his diet is omnivarious, small preys and fruits suit this animal very well. [...] From rare testimonies of travelers and further studies on specimen living in captivity, the female Bar'hakish can lay until four eggs, but only one or two will produce a hatchling. Indeed some studies showed that, systematically, a part of the clutch isn't fertilised [...] Naturalists came up with an interesting hypothesis after one of them tried to make omelettes with two Bar'hakish eggs. One among them was fertilised and we noticed that the unfertilised egg had a sweeter taste, which led to the said hypothesis: the unfertilised eggs act as a mix of bait and decoy to protect the future hatchlings from predators that would go after their eggs."

"Day one after the poisoning: Today the riders brought me one of their warrior. It happened on a hunting expedition, the unfortunate has been stabbed at the leg by a strange yet very aggressive animal, a reptilian bipedal one from what I could see from the corpse. After a closer look at the wound and the creature, it seems like the guy has been poisoned by the beast's venom.

Day two after the poisoning: I tried every medicine I had on my shelf yesterday. Nothing worked. At best it decreased his temperature. but the venom is still progressing. Worse, I could spot necrosis on several part of his body and we could also see [non translated] flowing from his eyes. We proceded to multiple amputations but I fear it's already too late. I tried a special mix of mushrooms a merchant sold me last week. At this point I just hope I can ease his pain.

Day three: Nothing is working anymore. Now my thoughts are covered by the agonising screams of a man who won't see the sun rise anymore. I'm turning mad because of these screams, I feel like my head is going to explode. Gods, I start to think I should end his suffering myself.

...

Finally, that man passed away at sunset. I think I gonna take some sleep and tomorrow. I'll take a close look at this creature and its venom."

"Listen well son, because I won't say it twice. That noble beast you see other there, is your final trial. Each warrior in this community ride their own Bar'hakish and will ride them until they meet their end. They are one with their mount, but before riding them, you'll have to tame them, and it won't be an easy task. That's a very aggressive creature, very wild, and it will be an uneven fight. The beast is powerful and stuborn, you'll have to be strong, both body and mind. Remember their tail is the biggest risk, so make sure to sever it before attempting to ride it. If it poisons you, you'll be lost. Also watch the crests. This one is female. Protect your ears or the screech will make you deaf.
Your mom loves you."

Speech from a mother to his son before attempting to tame a Bar'hakish. This practice appeared to be a ritual to reach the adulthood
