Description
So, somewhere between a progress compilation and a tutorial, here is the progression of Tidus' Brotherhood sword. I chose to do Brotherhood over Caladbolg, even though the rest of our FFX group had their Celestial Weapons, because I felt like it was most iconic not just for Tidus but for FFX in general (it's on the cover after all). 90% of construction was done in MDF (medium density fiberboard) with layers of 1/4" thick planks. You can choose to use thicker pieces but using thinner pieces is best for sculptural detail as it reduces the amount of material you'll need to remove in places.
As always, if you have any questions with any step of my work, please ask. I'm always happy to help out.

It would be interesting to do this sword in clear acrylic.

That was actually the original intention but financial constraints and time made it impossible. It's definitely on the to-do list for the future!

I have the same problem, I want to make an adamant barrage using a piece of 1"thick acrylic.

That would look truly amazing. One of my dream projects is similar. I want to create Siegfried's crystal Soul Calibur.
