DONE!Rough Draft is in Scraps.
I'm fairly pleased with this one. One of the best efforts I've done with colored pencils to date. I'm beginning to surprise myself with picking up old hobbies or parts of old hobbies and trying them to find that I can do much better now than I did then.
Or we could call this a lucky stroke. XD
Anyway, a smaller version will be uploaded with upcoming chapters (Chapter 2 will be up tommorow, I promise!), and note that the text effects are subject to change at any time.
Photoshop Elements 5.0 was used to add the text effects and darken in some of the areas where I felt darkening in was needed.
It's by no means perfect, but I like having work that is completely my own up as the cover.
As always, comments and suggestions are welcome. ^^

This has been my cover for a long time, but it's time to make way for the new one.
This was also my featured deviation in order to be a placeholder and index for the chapters. That'll be moved too. Just noting this for information's sake.

I like both covers, but I tend to prefer the newer cover because it better reflects the dual nature of past vs. present in Spanning Time, not to mention the scene that this cover is an image of technically no longer exists in the fic. >>;

cool! by the way, how long will it take to get another chapter up? if you're in school, isn't it summer vacation? and if you have a job, don't you ever get a break?

It looks really nice! I really like the crystals, they really look shiny and the little rocks down them looks good. I really like their poses too. I could give you some tips in the blending though, if I may ^_^ You could either use white or a lighter color (I like to use lighter colors better) so you don't get all those white dots. Great job

Thanks! I always just figured it had to do with the texture of the paper, it said it was "Medium" on the sketchbook, but I'll give it a try next time!

The paper does play a role in this, but I managed three years ago to do a clean looking pencil colored drawing with a normal lined paper... Also, you can add some blue in the shadow. It makes neat effects x3

Actually, I had to use my watercolor pencil for her face and hands... because my nice coloring pencils don't have any flesh tones, and I knew I'd make a botch of it if I tried. Still didn't come out quite how I liked, but better than if I'd tried to make skin tones myself.
And the Advanced Critique is something I use because I want people to know I do like to improve my art, I'm not just here to chat (doesn't mean I won't chat, necessarily, you get my point)
