"Iichi and Ohh you ask?

Just about every skayvan knows those names. The two were the most notable skavan explorers of the last couple centuries. Together, they discovered upwards of 200 new islands and categorized thousands of new plant and animal species. The most notable species being, of course, humans. That discovery was an accident, as most tend to be. After charting the anomaly that is Ett-ay lehrin,* they discovered a potential opening in it that met at the end of an archipelago, which would mean more islands to explore if their hunch was correct. They met with many noble skayven in hopes to receive funds to explore it, however, they were denied every time. Eventually they resorted to the Eeyaho leh at the time, Eeyahoh Echira, who found inspiration in their boldness and funded them. So the two lead a team south to discover the lands beyond Ett-ay lehrin.

At the same time, humans had discovered the same opening and were also exploring north of Tairia. The two explorer groups intercepted and met on a large island bisecting the two continents. This was the first contact between the two species. They had stayed on the island for several months, learning the other's language and culture, before relaying the discovery to their respective homes.

There is, of course, much more to this story, which is not possible to relay in anything less than a novel. Luckily, Iichi had written dozens of just his first meeting with humans. The two have cemented their place in skayven culture and history. Iichi is one of the most popular names for young skayven boys. Additionally, there have been countless stories written of them in the form of novels, poems, songs, and plays. These stories are not just about their adventures but also their love for each other, which is arguably the more renowned story they have."

*Ett-ay lehrin translates to "Ett's Home." It is the area mostly known as "The Sea's Edge" in Aisilish.

Normally, I try to make my lore pieces match what's being written about them so that they look like it was drawn by someone in the world, but I'm tired and want to show these guys to people, so forgive me for having a reference sheet in place of an actual lore drawing ;v;

On the bright side, though, this shows off how I typically design characters! I draw them in clear view with a bunch of notes, then immediately draw them interacting with the world and each other! Those sketches normally end up on the less serious side, cause it's me, of course they do XD Of course, since it is a preliminary-type sketch, these designs may change if and when I draw them next, cause I am nothing if not indecisive LOL

Like I said I've left a lot out of the story (I'm saving it for when I do an actual lore drawing) but the gist is: They're great explorers, they lead the team that discovered humanity, and they're a couple that love each other very much.

And if you were curious about their individual personalities: Iichi is the technical explorer who actually charts things down and Ohh is just here for the adventure and to hang out with his spouse lol
