General skayvan terms:
Linguistics
Singular: a skayvan
Plural: several skayven
Despite my perchance to forget, "skayven" need not be capitalized (just like "human" is not)
Unless when speaking of the language, Skayvan (like "English" is capitalized)
Locations
The whole skayvan continent: Ihsohdel
Skayvan mountain country: Ronal-Ihsohdel
Skayvan rainforest country: Kihra-Ihsohdel
Skayvan desert country: Toh-Ihsohdel
Heyyo! Update time! Didn't change the original drawing of this, but I did update it to fit the theme of my new style sheet!
So here are the skayven characters as defined by the three different countries in Ihsohdel! The MOST important thing to note is the plumage. Skayven will often assume where another skayvan is from just from looking at their feathers first and not from the other traits defined, although they do help in solidifying where they may be from.
Here are some questions you may have!
Are these hard rules for each country?: No, absolutely not! Just like with humans, just because people from a certain location can share certain traits does not mean anything. Many factors apply, and these are just what is most typical for each country.
Where are Ike and Echaro from?: Hopefully it shows! But for those curious, Ike shares a lot of traits with those from Ronal-Ihsodel so far, and Echaro has the answer in his middle name. The middle name for skayven often defines where they are from, though Echaro goes much broader than most do~

Anyway, I love this info sheet thingy, this species is rad!! It's always nice to know more about people's species, as I'm very interested in this kinda stuff. o3o I also like the fact that the females don't have breasts, it's always a good trope in non-mammalian species (despite Argonians being pretty neat even tho they have bewbs, for example)!

I like my big birb people a lot and I really enjoy coming up with all the different species stuff!! ^^ I want 'em to feel as real as possible, so they share a LOT with birds (obviously lol) Case and point: birds dont have boobs, can't make milk, so these guys aren't! They're also all super lactose intolerant and can't eat cheese, poor things XD

No problemo!! I like that the plumage is also reflecting real birds! Hahaa I can relate to the birbs, I'm allergic to milk protein so no cheese or milk for me either. xD Tho I managed to find some vegan cheese which was tasty. I'm glad vegans exist so I can eat their foods! XD

Yeah! the difference between male and female feather-wise is based on songbirds while a lot of their other traits are based on birds of paradise, like the fact that they can see into the UV spectrum, so they can see colors that humans cant!!
Man, I love milk so much, I drink it with every meal i couldn't imagine life without it (probably just lots more water XD)
I have heard that vegan stuff is a good alternative, so I'll just have to try it and see

I'm so glad you do! I wanted it to be like how different countries have a different 'average' in terms of how a person looks! They've all adapted to different places, and thus, they look slightly different depending on the area!
Oh yeah! I said it down there but I'm very partial to the not-mammal-no-boob mentality. They don't make milk, so there wouldn't. Be anything there??? I think the most birds have is large pecs and that's just cause they need to fly haha!

I don't think I have mentioned this to you before, but I really appreciate the fact that you don't give the females breasts or faux bosom. I mean, duh. Birds don't have/need boobs (though, some have floofy chests ofc) The Argonians in TES bother me so much with that detail. It never bugged me when people made furries with boobs cuz they are fantasy animals with humanoid features- and they're mammals! It's just the lizard, amphibian, bird characters with tits that confuse me. To each their own of course! But it always feels so strange to see and I suddenly have so many questions~
My mom used to get so angry when my brother and I watched a Canadian show called "The Raccoons" because the female had boobs. I'm fine with that but she always asked why the character only had two and why were they so big since she was a raccoon. LOL!
Anyway! I've gone an made my comment long before I even got to the point! This is a really cool way to understand the varients in the race. I think I like the rainforest ones the most (imagining these are the "the birds of paradise" type with their mating dance which you've blessed my eyeballs with) but I'm a sucker for colorful stuff and bold stuff!

Hehe! I'm a big contributing member of the not-mammal-no-boob club LMAO! I put way too much thought into the biology of these guys and the biggest thing I wanted was for the women not be easily identifiable by the shape of their body. Like birds! Instead, it's much more in the coloration and amount of plumage. So yeah, no boob XD (although, they can totally have big ol' pecs if they work 'em out enough, but that's not at all gender exclusive~)
I've had the same exact thoughts as you. Boobs on animals, in general, confuse me cause we don't see 'em on animals unless they're making milk, and even then, there's more than two, idk, I put too much thought in it LMAO. But people can do what they want, it's they're fantasy, but that don't mean I ain't gonna question the biology of it LOL
Ah, thank you so much! I didn't want 1 "default" skayven because unless they're all in a very small island, that wouldn't happen, so variety!!! The rainforest ones are definitely the prettiest outa all of 'em and they were definitely the ones featured in that animation XD (also, fun fact, thanks to your mating dance comment, dancing has become a much more important part of skayven marriage(well dancing for the rainforest. In the desert it's more so singing.) Don't know how I didn't think of it before you're comment, but it's made the lore babey) I might be partial to Echaro cause I know his role in the story, but my heart goes to the desert skayven (although, there's Ike and he's a pretty adorable mountain boy LMAO)
