Yup, that argonian was too far to hear the Hist's call. The Hist called all Argonians who were close enough to hear, back to Black Marsh during the Oblivion crisis. When the portals to Oblivion opened in Black Marsh, as a race the Argonians plunged into them. So badly were the Daedra defeated, that they shut down all portals to Black Marsh. Its the main reason why they left the empire.

I know! Oh, I really love that part of the lore! Imagine the Daedra's horror-mixed suprise when a throng, zounds, of Argonians, fully prepared and ready for battle plunged through the gates and destroyed them on their home-turf!

One technical grammatical error: it says "not only were they no match..." I believe the correct version would be "not only were they more than a match..."
