Thieves guild doesn't exist, what are you talking about?! Next thing you'll say is that there's some kind of thief king and the begers work for him pfsh...we don't need your silly stories here

if only you could do this in the actual game, jumping from rooftop to rooftop

GothaWolf In reply to MysticD [2014-05-18 10:59:52 +0000 UTC]

My Oblivion char was able to jump from rooftop to rooftop! High acrobatics. :3 If it wasn't too far of course. But yes, I miss spells like this one from Morrowind.

Lucky you. I was too much of the adventuring/treasure hunting/exploring type. When I found a cave, ruins, dungeon, etc, I just gotta explore it!

Well you can if you find the hatch to the roof, though you would need a mod like open cities to jump onto the imperial wall

Wuh- this can't be Ashibi? Cuddling up to Valen like that? o_O But then again, this can't be just some random Khajit, either... Well, in either case, I'm glad to see she's beginning to understand the concept of shoes. It's a hard thing to master, I know.

Well, yea- that's the sole reason I'm even thinking this over. I've seen friends playing the same games as me on PCs of varying expensiveness, but I must say that no matter the game(and no matter how expensive their PCs are), it still looks better on my ancient TV.

With some games, the aestics are incredably important. Take Oblivion, for example- on my TV, it doesn't actually look like poop!

It still plays like poop! So you have a pretty poop on ur tv screen! CONGRATZ!

Hastur66 In reply to hellwarior [2014-05-26 11:57:30 +0000 UTC]

Oh, come on- it's not that bad? Sure, it lacks a good deal of RPG elements, but at least you are very free to make your character, and you can create spells and enchantments! That's neat, right?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

hellwarior In reply to Hastur66 [2014-05-27 12:58:20 +0000 UTC]

Sure! Its limited to shit and basicly pointless compared to older TES games, and you can make you character which is also limited to shit because of all those abilities they removed, or fused

I like skyrim, but I hate oblivion, wanna know why? cause Skyrim was honest about being an ACTION game, and not an RPG, Oblivion was the bridge of in betwen, being a shity action game AND shity rpg ... and even then Skyrim felt more like an RPG with that perk system

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Hastur66 In reply to hellwarior [2014-05-28 06:28:07 +0000 UTC]

Oblivion was what got me into TES, really- then I checked out Morrowind, and then Skyrim. Up untill Oblivion, I hadn't played nothing but strategy games(HOMM) and a few action adventures, and didn't know much about RPG. So even though you had skills in HOMM, and some *very* open "classes", the class-system of Oblivion -and later, other RPGs- were completley new to me. I agree that Oblivion isn't as good an action game as Skyrim, or that it can't compare to Morrowind as an RPG, but I still have some sentimental love for Oblivion! After all, I wasn't among the Morrowind fans who had their expectations shattered... But pointless? What ever do you mean by that? And in truth, many of my custom classes are forced to add at least one more Skill than I really need... or want.

But how can you say Skyrim felt like an RPG game? No classes, weapons and gear never breaks, you can't interract properly with NPCs, you can't even choose your clothes! "You want that shirt? Well, then you simply *must* take these wonderfull pants with them! No, really- those leather greaves just don't WORK with that shirt. Seriously, gtfo of my shop."

hellwarior In reply to Hastur66 [2014-05-28 13:14:04 +0000 UTC]

I said that Skyrim felt more like RPG then Oblivion

I used the word "Felt" not "is" implying that, even if Skyrim is less rpgy then Oblivion, it still feels more that way, because of the perk system and the fact that if you want, you can specialize in just some aspects of those skill-trees, implying that you still have more freedom to chose then in oblivion.

Im not saying you should hate Oblivion just becuase I do hate it, but its a bad game, and its transition from RPG tes to ACTION tes and that makes me hate it even more. Don't get me wrong, I love me some bad games, even if I am aware of how bad they are.

hell, newest HOMM feels more like RPG then Oblivion

Hastur66 In reply to hellwarior [2014-05-30 17:02:13 +0000 UTC]

In Skyrim, you can chose to let your Conjuration-based mage be either a necromancer or a Daedric summoner, by choosing perks... Also, you can choose wether your master "one-handed fighter" should be a bit better with maces than with daggers, by choosing different perks. In Oblivion, you are just as good with summoning undeads as you are with Daedra, and your blademaster is as skilled with a claymore as he is with a shortsword... Is this what you meant?

I understand that you're pissed that Beth chose to make the TES games into action games. It's not Oblivion's fault though- no reason to hate that game because of it. Hate the developers for making that desicion, if anything.

I tried to play HOMM IV and V... Haven't bothered buying any of the newer ones. I much prefer nr. 3. I haven't tried out nr. 2 yet, though I have heard many praise it as the best of the series. I hope to get around to it some time...
