The hair, turtleneck and posse in the last panel sorta makes Valen look like an art-critic, or perhaps a fashion designer! Are we getting valuable information about his past life in the capitol here?
But really, I love all the faces he makes on this page! He *does* look a bit older in the second and last panel, but it might be that he's just less... bitter? I don't think we've seen a happy Valen in this comic before... o.o

I don't really like that "Lost" series, but if it taught you anything, its that a flashback can be a powerful tool and it can backfire if you use it in a wrong way ... Actually Lost teaches you that its a powerful tool and can do alot of good, while FF8 teaches you that it can backfire if you use it in a crappy way : p
