Description
So has coaxed me into starting to upload stuff again. In this case, it's something I've been dithering with on-off for a while; a Minecraft recreation of Zoo Tycoon 2's Extinct Research Lab!
Originally, I was planning on putting this together for use in modded MC games that use the Fossils & Archaeology Revival mod, but instead I adapted the design from the mod's Academy structure as a lab.
So this just concept just sat about gathering dust, until Tote got me inspired enough to actually get around to building it.
I can't say it's a perfect reproduction, as there is the obvious issue of Minecraft being composed of 1x1x1m cubes, and the fact the original design in Zoo Tycoon 2 has opaque windows, so no interior detail is visible, and the building's scale in-game is pretty off, making scale recreation difficult.
The interior layout is really guesswork, loosely based upon what can be seen in ZT2's Fossil-Building and Animal Creation modes and adapted into equivalents for the Fossil & Archaeology mod.
If anyone can offer suggestions for improvement, then I welcome the input.
Oh, before I forget, I am using a custom texture pack, so some textures may not look right. If anyone wants to know what blocks were used in its construction, just ask.

What blocks did you use? I see black hardened clay and hardened clay and blue stained windows not sure what anything else is

I do use a texture-pack, so most blocks look quite different.
If I remember rightly, they are;
Cobblestone - the dark grey exterior base
Stone Bricks - the grey interiors of the bottom floor
Light-Blue Stained Glass - windows (these are blocks, not panes)
Iron Blocks - pale grey sections
Orange Hard Clay - the orange sections
Brown Hard Clay - the brown trim around the doors
Stone Brick Stairs - the stairs
Stone Slabs - upper floor
regular Bricks - roof (they are blue in my texture-pack)
regular Wooden Doors
Glowstone - the white blocks with dark trim
The stuff on the roof (not shown here) is built from Chiseled Stone Bricks, Nether-Brick Fence andΒ WoodenΒ Trapdoors
The stuff inside the Lab is chests and blocks from the Fossils & Archaeology Revival Mod.
Hope this helps you.

To me it is prettier than the one in zoo tycoon 2.

This screenshot is of it at only 98% complete, I added the detailing to the roof after this was taken.
Still not sure if it looks okay, though. Can't quite put my finger on what's wrong with it, unfortunately.
That said, I know that it doesn't seem big enough, as I could barely fit the lab into the lower floor, and that's after I made certain the whole structure was as to-scale to the original as possible.
The screenshots I managed to take of the Fossil-Building and Animal Creation modes in ZT2 aren't overly helpful either, as they suggest that centre of the structure is wholly taken up by the Animal Creation lab, while the Fossil Building mode takes place in the upper centre of the building... which would be impossible, as they cannot both fit into the same space simultaneously.
Initially, I thought the latter was in one of the upper corners, but in the corner of the screenshot, you can see the skylight, which is in the centre of the roof, which would put it in the upper centre of the building.
It's all very very confusing.

I didn't know at first if this was modeled after zoo tycoon or if you were just making a building

Oh. What was it that confused you? I'll see if I can fix it.
