Description
Bloodbeak, who is allied with Demi and Mahi, was once the proud general of the Miako tribe, a race of sentient, surviving dromaeosaurids. After refusing to slaughter the people of a fishing village marked for extermination by the greedy and corrupt Miako leader, Nodak, Bloodbeak was banished from his tribe. Soon after Bloodbeak's exile, Nodak began slaughtering villages of humans to expand his territory and fulfill his insane desire to take the island back from the two-legged primates. Bloodbeak, driven by a strict code of honor and fairness, was infuriated by his former leader's greed and callous disregard for innocent life. The former general soon met with Kei and Mahi, and after being defeated in battle by Kei, allied with them. His true motives, safeguarded as he tries to make them, are obvious to his allies. He is hoping to gain their trust enough to convince them to join him in exacting his vengeance upon Nodak once and for all. However, as his time with them increases, so does his respect for them. He begins to see them less as pawns in his scheme, and more as friends.Trained in the most elite of Miako fighting techniques, Bloodbeak is a swift and savage killer. Along with his razor-sharp talons and bone-crunching jaws, Bloodbeak uses a huge pole-arm as his primary weapon... which also makes a handy walking stick. His code of honor prohibits him from fighting someone who is inexperienced in battle, or to fight an unarmed man if he's using a weapon.
Some minor details about BB:
-His kind have evolved an opposable finger, like our thumb, but it's actually located where our pinky finger is located. His high-fives are always a bit awkward.
-His anatomy follows dromaeosaurid anatomy pretty strictly: his tail is immovable, his wrists can't twist easily, and his arms rest in a birdlike position. Just to piss off Jurassic Park fans and dinosaur conservatives, he is fully feathered, JUST LIKE A REAL DROMAEOSAURID WOULD HAVE BEEN.
-The braincase of his kind is enlarged. I'll post a skull diagram so you can see. The Miako are actually based on this species of modern 'raptor from a book called "Kong, King of Skull Island" in which the brains of the 'raptors have also grown in size and caused the skull to bulge.
-The way the Miako speak is similar to how parrots mimic sounds, except these guys have the brainpower to comprehend it as speech. If we could actually hear a Miako speaking, they'd probably have a distinctly parrot-like crackle, despite having individual voices.
-Bloodbeak is based almost entirely on Dinobot from Beast Wars: Transformers. The code of honor, his gruff personality and social problems... I'm almost ashamed at how similar I made them, but I thought it would be fun to create him as a tribute to the fallen Maximal. Beast Wars forever!

I just noticed that tiny primate skull on Bloodbeak's necklace, somewhat similar to Mahi having a primitive avian on his necklace! Nice touch, as always.

Heh, it's kind of an eye-for-an-eye thing. Bloodbeak doesn't have it when they initially meet, but he returns with a fresh gibbon skull around his neck. The difference being, Mahi found the skull and Bloodbeak deliberately went out and looked for the gibbon out of spite.

With a few tiny modifications, such as the opposable pinky finger and expanded skull, but superficially yes, Bloodbeak is accurate. His species hadn't evolved very drastically since the late cretaceous.
Thanks!

Yeah, but his beast form was one of the most perplexing 'raptor designs I've ever seen.
Thanks for your comment!

Me too. One of the few dinosaur games where you're playing as the dinosaurs, not as a human killing the dinosaurs.
That's not Talon, though. Soz.

Seriously :
It's not bad, I think the position on the canvas makes it somewhat hard to 'see'
Also, it could be improved by adding variation to the lines (darker lines for shadowed areas etc.)
It's a good concept, the character itself is niecly detailed and you obviously know it's form very well.

Thank you. Sorry for being a douchebag.
It's at an angle because it's launching itself from a rock. Each of these are supposed to be action poses. I should go back in and darken the lines to give it more form, though, yeah. Shading has never been my strong suit, and it always looks weird when I do shade my lineart.

Yeah likewise.
I think it would be cool to have another one with the rock in the background or something like that

OH WOW. He's - gorgeous! The sheer DETAIL ye put into him, visually and the description and yer thought process - it's just wonderful! n-n
He reminds me a lot of an archaeopteryx, my favorite dinosaur-bird hybrid type thing, and it makes me smiiiile.

Heh, the feathers were a must. People draw these kinds of dinosaurs without them too often, when we know for a fact that they did have feathers.
Thank you for your comment! I really enjoyed creating this storyline and these characters, and I'm happy that you like them, too.
