Cool..I really love your pencil drawings of arboreal trees. I'm def. the liberal tree hugger but I live in a land where they cut downs trees like wheat!

Amazing, dumbfounding, I-could-sit-and-stare detail! I love this enormous tree with its twisty, hanging roots. The staircase is so beautiful, spiraling and wrapping around the tree to lead to that very mysterious and dark door set so deeply into the trunk. I absolutely adore that there are subtle, tiny roots hanging from above in the area between the outside of the tree to the door, emphasizing the depth there. The simple background is just enough to add to the piece without removing primary attention from that wonderful tree! You have a great deal of talent!

It's where I live when the outside gets a bit hard to handle.
A very nicly written compliment, thank you, glad you came by.

hello, miss, i absolutely adore this picture so much the detail of the roots is unbelievable and just your ability to shade in general is phenomenal. i do have a question though: would you mind terribly if someone were to use this image and get it inked on them? :]

graemeb In reply to musicalfashions [2011-05-27 02:22:54 +0000 UTC]

That should be OK but you must show me a pic when it's finished and tell everyone where it came from OK. Keep me informed I will look foward to seeing it.

Hello, don't worry I am more then overjoyed that you had given me the OK! I'm sorry I had not replied sooner, I figured I would save it until I got it done, :} and lucky me, my artist had an opening last week. I uploaded a picture of it and I hope that you like it as much as I do despite slight differences. I'm sorry about not being able to link you [I don't know my way around the site besides searching the artwork ;x] Thank you again for letting me use your beautiful work. :]

i do so live eldric trees and this one just blooms with mystery. the details are beautiful done and add to the over all sense of magic , i want to see the outer side of that doorway so badly . thank you for posting this art work

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

graemeb In reply to krishna76 [2010-05-02 03:25:53 +0000 UTC]

I think it is so popular because it is a real tree, no door but the top half is growing in Sydney.
Everyone wants the door to open, maybe one day. haha
Thanks Krishna.

This is a rather large work, about 1100mm square or 44inch.
It is actually a real tree as you may have noticed in the photos and is growing in Paddington, Sydney right in the street.

Excellent drawing.
Your attention to detail is very inspiring. Trees has to be one of the most tedious things to draw.
