i went to the moran exhibition today for my Visual Arts excursion, and when i saw this painting, i immediately thought: "Deviantart!" it's a very striking portrait, and it looks so much more fabulous in real life

no, because we were supposed to meet at the place by 9 AM, but i didn't know the way there. I got lost and arrived late so I only got a brief glimpse before we had to leave for some other exhibition (personally i think the moran was much better than the archibald, but don't tell the big guys i said that..)

Thanks for the rap I will have to work on the words there not in the computer, I will see what I can do.
It was the hardest thing to do because I'm an ex signwriter I wanted to do them neat and tidy but I knew they had to be as they are.

Amazing portrayal of emotions, in her face and how her hands are playing with the end of her skirt! She looks defiant and scared and tense all at the same time! The use of words in the background is great too.

Amazing how a painting can be read so accurately by an obsurver who knows very little of what the artist tried to portray. It humbles me to hear all these comments and accolades that prove so convincingly that I got it right.
I have always felt I achived what I set out to do and liked the painting but an artist always feels they can do better at least in some areas of the work. Because it all happens so slowley you never get that impact that a first time viewer gets and therefore is never satisfied with their own work.
Mind you Amy is a great subject and good actor as well. lol. and she dose do modeling for a big agency in Sydney
Lets hope the judges see what we have.

I think you're definitely right about the artist always seeing a flaw. I know I generally do in my work. I think it's because you know everything that went into it and what you could have done differently. It's like listening to a piece of music you've never heard before: you won't notice small mistakes because you don't know how it is supposed to sound. Anyway, nice work!
