Thanks, I start out with an idea but it grows as I paint and sometimes it works really well.

I'd say it worked absolutely perfect here and it's such a nice analogy for your idea to grow as you paint, just like a tree

Wow! I adore people who are that talented with oil paint. I think it's a very hard medium to work with, mainly becasue of the long drying time.
Again, very nice work, you got the reflection of the water perfect. There is so much details to look at, the bark of the tree, every single leaf and that gradiant shading of the stairway. The beams of light from the trees looks both hard to pull of and an interesting choice of lightsource.
Masterpiece!

Thanks Misja, sorry I have taken so long to answer.
Yeah it is difficult at first but it is so versatile, you can do anything with it. The more you paint the more you learn and the more things you can do.
I think that is why it is still in wide use even though there seems to be a lot of people trying to put it down as an archaic art form.
I like to see things I can't have and make them so I can have them and most of the things I see are in my head so I paint them. I hope that makes sense.

I always wanted to try oils but i guess im too afraid to begin. I have recently gathered acrylics and will try to experiment and then try oils once i have gotten the hang of it.
I understand, imagination is an endless source of inspiration Really inspiring work.

Hi Trudie, even your comments are poetic. That's a really nice poem, er comment. Thank you.
I may be able to paint and draw but my writing skills are not very advanced. I have always wished I could write about my trees and do a book.

I love this, usually people build things around trees and on occassions slightly in trees but nothing like this. The colors and lighting you made are magnificent.

Hi Erica, the door is not for people to enter the tree but more a symbol to enter the tree spiritually and learn the secrets of nature, of learning to live with the environment.
It is the door of enlightenment.
Thanks for your thoughts.

Every now and then?! You're paintings are wonderful, I hope to get to that level someday. I just picked up oil paints again for the first time in almost three years so I've got a long way to go. Luckily, I have pieces like yours to look at for inspiration!

As you get better you set a higher standard so the more I change the more I stay the same. If that makes sense.
Good for you, I hope I encouraged that. You can look at my gallery any time if it gives you inspiration and if you have any questions just ask.

Thanks! I will definitely do that. Right now, I'm just working on getting used to the paints and how they blend etc. So it's just a little slow going, but will be worth it in the end!
