wow this is amazing..i just gotta know do u draw ur leaves first and then the branches?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

graemeb In reply to DarkerToned [2007-12-24 11:58:10 +0000 UTC]

The lighter leafs I normally draw first but not always, rules aren't something I stick to I just do what needs to be done as it arises. Thanks for your comments and have a good Christmas.

no. seriously - how do you do it with those leafs??
damn i love the mix of brick bridge, tree and rocks!!
however i think if it's a very calm river or ice?

i think you could try smudging the reflection of stuff on that river/ice. this would amke the soft effect, i guess

It's more like a swamp I think, the trees are hidden in endless swamps.
I don't smudge, I have never liked it. Get the kneadable eraser and learn how to use it. You can take of little bits of graphite etc. they are a good tool.

viliusm In reply to graemeb [2007-09-06 05:44:56 +0000 UTC]

you mean those erasers you can shape them how you want?
i had this one, really helpful working with graphite. gave up the pencil few months back tho. started drawing with mechanical, but i guess graphite can give awesome effects ;] i'll start again because of you! thanks!

graemeb In reply to viliusm [2007-09-06 08:50:02 +0000 UTC]

Yes that's the type, I use the light grey ones.
Good to see you get back to drawing, remember if it was easy everyone would do it, so take your time and progress slowly.
Also different types of paper can give different effects so try all the papers you can find.

So was I mate, some paper will make a HB pencil draw like a 2B and vise versa, others have texture which cause random shapes to happen which can look like bark etc, try them and find what you like.

viliusm In reply to graemeb [2007-09-07 13:33:52 +0000 UTC]
