Wow comments like that are easy to take, thanks.
I'd wish upon your star but all that lightning is scary.

*grin* I do my best!

And hey.. I think those are the best kind of stars.. the ones you see even when it's storming.. Though, I'm a stormchild myself- maybe I'm just biased! lol

Gorgeous work. I love this tree.
It represents all that lives in and around it. It's like the home there at that forest, the safe haven and abode for all creatures.

Fabulous!

That's really a good critique as it is what I want people to feel about my tree drawings and paintings . I want them to look after trees and not destroy them, thanks.

absolutely beautiful work - the lighting gives it such a warm atmosphere, almost like comming home after a tiring day and being happy to be home - if that makes any sense o0

Also - I did indeed do my graphite image ([link] ) and I thank you for inspiring me to get back into it again.

It maks a lot of sense because I want to make people like them so much they would not even think of cutting them down and by making them look like home I think it would work.

whisperelmwood In reply to graemeb [2007-03-14 22:36:18 +0000 UTC]

well it certainly seems that it would work then ^^

Very beautiful. Love the choice of colours. looks very realistic and the stairway makes it more mysterious. love how the light is shining through the branches too. Wonderful work. As always.

Thanks Jessie, when I put the stairs and doors in, it changes the whole perception of the tree, the size, and the age, gives people a warm feeling towards the tree which must be a good thing ah.

what sort of paint is this, this is amazing

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

graemeb In reply to mistergoodface [2007-03-13 03:39:02 +0000 UTC]

It's oil on linnen Vincent as you progress you find you can get almost any effect with oil you want it is so versatile.

mistergoodface In reply to graemeb [2007-03-14 04:31:53 +0000 UTC]

i've noticed that you can make oil look just like a water color

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

graemeb In reply to mistergoodface [2007-03-14 09:25:08 +0000 UTC]

I do that with glazing, mixing little bits of pure colour with oil or medium and laying it over the underpainting. Or you can scumble it on dry.
