Description
A pair of F14's in dirty weather. Inspired in no small way by some recent aircraft renders from my good friend Andrew March [link] [link] .And the inspirational rain work by [link] which had me scratching my head for a while.
Rendered in LW11.5 with post work in PS.
F14 is payware by MKIII (Mark Davies)

Fairly easy, I'm still getting the method locked down, devil is definitely in the detail all those splashed and run offs. Fun

I miss those guys :,( They were big hunks of metal, but were capable of doing a lot more than our current fighters.

Great rendering. Not all sorties happened in sunshine.

The 14 was an amazing plane, probably one of the most beautiful of the cold war birds and they played with some interesting tech on them too

the angle is a very interesting one. the mood of the piece feels really appropriate. navy planes flying through a storm n all. thats also something the tomcat did well. the spec and glow just seals the deal here. love this

I miss the F-14... we needed an F-14E... not the Super Hornet...

Agreed - and I'm British, but it was always one of my favourite US Navy birds.

atleast we still have the F-15 Eagle series. I modeled a fictional variant of the F-15, and I'm currently working on a fictional variant of the F-14. Here's the "Super Eagle" if you're interested [link]
