Description
Legend of Zelda fanart, for the first time in years! Man it's good to be back. And it seems appropriate considering it's Zelda's 25th anniversary this yearIt seems whenever my enthusiasm for the 3DS dies down I see new art or screenshots of Ocarina of Time 3D and completely geek out. I've been waiting for an Ocarina remake since the DS was new when Mario 64 was remade!
So that together with the fact that I haven't drawn anything related to my favourite game for eons I decided to draw something of a tribute to Ocarina.
So here's Link and Epona surveying the fast open plains of Hyrule Field (can't wait to gallop across it in 3D
Drawn with ballpoint pens of various colours and coloured pencils for burnishing.

Heh, thanks for bringing back some good memories. I like the colourful and sketeched style you've done this one in, it seems somehow fitting of the Zelda universe.

It was odd; I took one look at this picture, and was like: Dude, I know exactly where he is. you know, like, where on the map.
so, you got the landscape down good! awesome piece.

Thanks! I was pretty amazed that with myself because I used as little reference as I could, just drawing from my memory of the game (though using pics of the English Lake District for tonal reference).
But when I finished I was like "Hey he's looking over the ridge out front of Gerudo Valley!" you can't plan that I took a bit of liberty with the scale of the fields though to make it more open and sweeping looking.
Thanks again, and cheers for the fave on it too!

right. far many more mountains in the background too, to account for the whole border-of-the-world and all. by hey, that's cool. makes it look more realistic.
oh man, if I could visit a realistic replica of the OoT hyrule, (or at least a small part of it,) that would be just too awesome. ^^
