Description
For most, the near fatal lab accident that robotics engineer Lucretia de Loccia suffered a few years ago would have been the end -for her, it was only the beginning...A commissioned piece featuring the original character Lucretia de Loccia by *ProfessorBlues
First off, this would have to be the first major commissioned piece... or not commissioned that actually got put into the drawing section as opposed to the painting section. It took me a little while to make up my mind where it should be put but looking at the process of creating it, I did a whole hell of a lot more pen and ink work on this one then watercolor.
Most all of the subtle color shifts in the work as well as a lot of the shaded areas is the result of hatching and cross hatching with various colored inks. In fact, the background is actually only two light watercolor washes (one in Raw Seinna and touch ups in Sepia) with pen and ink work for all the color shifts, line work, detail, etc. And I have ~grumpygoat to thank for reminding me that laying down a nice yellowish wash is a good thing! I was about to painstakingly paint sepia and umber tones into the line work until I ran across her tutorial and went, "hey, wait a minute, you can do that"
So, to sum this piece up:
1) Loved working on some cybernetics for a change... god I love flesh and metal!
2) Prismacolor Fine Line markers have given unto me a joy yet unnamed. I would marry them except that the sex would just be awkward.
3) I just needed something else to justify a list.
Medium: pen and ink and watercolor on 300lbs hotpressed watercolor paper
