Description
It was about 10:00 at night, and everyone else had gone to bed pretty early from working so hard on the new village.
Riggie was staying up talking to Ripple over some coffee, when suddenly they heard a little noise.
It was about time for it, so Ripple quickly went to check the seed.
Sure enough, a little crack had formed between two pores. The energy inside was glowing like crazy, and she could feel the seed's heat on the outside.
Ripple looked over at Riggie with excited eyes. She gently picked up the seed and nodded for him to follow her.
"Grab that bag," she whispered, pointing in the corner of the kitchen. Then they headed into the bedroom attached to the living room of her parents' temporary house, where Ripple was currently staying.
She got comfortable in the bed, the seed sitting between her legs. Riggie came and sat next to her.
"It might be a while," she said softly, trying not to wake anyone up.
"That's okay," he said. She could tell he wanted to be there for her.

A couple of hours passed, every once in a while the seed shaking or making sounds or forming new, smaller cracks.
Riggie dosed in and out while Ripple talked to the open air about her life and different she felt now.

Finally, a piece fell off. A pretty good-sized one, too.
Ripple could see little fingers pull back inside. "Riggie," she whispered excitedly. "Look."
He dazedly sat up and rubbed his eyes, but perked up more when he realized it was happening.
A piece above the open hole jiggled, and more cracks appeared near the bottom of the seed, then all in one swift motion the rest of the seed started falling away and the little baby was revealed, tiredly falling back into a resting position.

"Hi there..." Ripple whispered as softly as she could, tears welling in her eyes. "You did it little buddy," she said. She picked up a broken shell piece off his forehead and gently pulled it away, the liquid-like membrane still attached.
"Is it a boy or a girl?" Riggie asked quietly.
"A boy," Ripple said.
A moment passed.
"What are you going to name him?"
She thought about it for a second.
"Kai. Kai Blue Eurbero."
