Description
My second adopted Antarctic variant, Gwen - Tawny's 4YO daughter.Still, no concrete personality or history yet. I'm in the process of writing them as part of an already-existing pod, the other characters of which belong to and .
Name: Gwen ("guh-when"; Welsh for "fair" or "white")
Species: Orcinus orca / Killer whale / Orca
-Sub-Species: Antarctic / Ghost Killer variant [fictional]
Gender: Female
Age: 4 (est.) / Born 2008
Appearance: 12 ft. at 3,000 lbs. Pale, pearly skin with white markings. Blue/green eyes. See artwork.
Personality: Gwen is a very speedy, active young calf. Most days she spends playing with her mother or the other females of the pod, most of which she counts as her "aunts". She is wary of full-grown bulls, having not known many of them in her short lifetime, and is even more unsure of those who are not the same color variants as her relatives. And while curious and generally kind, she takes after Tawny in having a shy, retiring nature, and has been slow to learn how to hunt mostly because of her mother's reluctance to teach, owing to her own lack of confidence,
History: Gwen was born on a cold, blustery winter night, and is one of the very few ghost variant orcas to be seen within her given family, which were mostly caramels or normal variants. Though she has a inquisitive nature, she has never shown a great interest in visiting humankind, and almost always prefers the comfort and security of those she knows, versus investigating things she doesn't. Though she has yet to be weaned and learn to properly hunt, she enjoys toying with local seabirds and penguins.

Indeed, the coloration is similar. But Iceberg's more of a pure white, whereas Gwen's a cream-like, off-white.

I actually wrote up their RP profiles yesterday. But then became too lazy to copy/paste them from Cetus Sea to DA. Maybe that will get done sometime today.
Thank you. Ghosts and caramels are my two favorites of the color variations. However, in working on this, I wasn't sure if I should blur out/recolor Gwen's markings' outlines (like you did with Opal), or leave them as they are. I think, once again, it came down to feeling lazy about it.
With Tawny and Gwen, my orca OCs count is now at 30.

*brainstorm* I got an idea! 8D *rushes to note it down*
My favorites are Spectors . They remind me of Death from RDR. I blurred out Opy's markings because the Ghost killer profile that Weisse drew showed them with soft blurred markings. If I knew that we could give them sharp, un-blurred markings I'd probably give Opal some crazy design like my other cetaceans
. But I'm leaving her markings as they are, save for turning the splotch on her back into a tear-drop shape. Ghosts actually remind me of Vanilla and I was thinking of calling Opal "Vanilla" but then I remembered the Opal stone my father brought for himself and I left it as Opal.
O.O oh gosh you've got yourself cut out looking after them XD. I have just 6 + Xani.

I promise, it's the only other one I'll be creating/adopting for a while now. 30 is to be my self-imposed limit at this time.
Thank you!

Thank you!
Welsh names are great for orcas, as Morgan so exemplifies.

It's Welsh for "fair" or "white". So I had to use it.
Thank you.

She's beautiful! I like the idea of Tawny having a daughter, too. They're gonna be a nice solid pod at this rate

Thanks.
Exactly. Their coloration may be different than the norm, and some aspects of their behavior, but I'd imagine the strong maternal nature is still present within their ecotype.

I'd think so too. Its part of what makes pods so successful =3
