Description Will be scrapped. Just felt like doing a ref sheet for a character I plan to use at my roleplay forum, Cetus Sea.

I won't add a long-winded profile here. The short version would be, Eva is Sigrún's mother, and both are part of a small pod of Type B Antarctic killer whales.

Used lineart by *AnoOrca: [link]
As AnoOrca was the original designer of Sigrún, whom I adopted, I thought it fitting to use the lineart again.

Name: Eva ("eh-vah"; Latinate form of Eve)
Species: Orcinus orca / Killer whale / Orca
-Sub-Species: Antarctic Type B / Transient
Gender: Female
Age: 30-35 (est.)
Appearance: 16 ft. at 8,000 lbs. Bold, thick eyepatches. Short, hollow saddle patch.
Personality: Eva is a gentle, but retiring female. She's not as outgoing as either of her calves, and can usually be found swimming at the back of any given group. Rarely does she ever go anywhere alone, and is prone to nervous fits of vocalization. Loss of her own mother at an early age is suspected to be the cause of her insecurities. She is almost always seen traveling in the company of her daughter, D'U-001/Sigrún, and her son, D'U-003/Viktor.
History: Eva and her family were among the first Southern Ocean orca pods to be actively pursued and documented for scientific purposes, by a Norweigan-based research team. They are thought to frequent the waters between the D'Urville Sea (between East Antarctica and Tasmania) and the Ross Sea. The given time of year appears to determine in which area they are most likely found, as they are thought to migrate south, to the Ross Sea, in the winter to feed on seals and small whales.
Of these twelve, numbered individuals, she was the second female to be given a name, owing to the time of day in which she was sighted. In contrast to her daughter, who'd shown an active interest in people and boats, Eva almost never paid any attention to researching visitors.
The remaining individuals of the D'Urville pod were suspected to be Eva's extended relatives, possibly, two female cousins with their own offspring. At any given time, Eva and her calves were always observed in the middle of or following the two subgroups, never in the lead. Even so, Sigrún's mildly-dominating tendencies appear to sometimes bring her mother into conflict with the other older cows. A lesser collection of rake marks on Eva's skin attest to her low, but compliant social status.
Other:
- ID number is D'U-002.
- Is suspected to have given birth to one other calf after Sigrún, who did not survive its first winter.

Thank you. It's good to know I haven't lost my touch for designing orca OCs for myself. The last few, I've either adopted or based off of pre-existing characters.

I'll be honest, probably not too much in the way of art. But I do have at least one idea in the planning stage involving her at the moment. Thank you. ^_^

What roleplays are your planning on adding her to? She seems like a neat character!

If any, it'll probably be some extension of FF, far down the line. Maybe I'll write a few flashback moments for Sigrún that feature Eva. Or if an RP were to ever start up in the Antarctic, I'd think of using her and my other Type B orca, Viktor.

That would be fun! An Antarctic roleplay down the road would be so fun! I'd love to create an Antatcic orca! been reading up on them and they are so neat!

It would be interesting. And while I would be game for such a story, my RP capacity is sorely limited to MBO and FF right now.

But I look forward to seeing what Antarctic orca you'd create. Which type would you say you like best?

Yes, for sure I was thinking down the road too

I like type B and C, but I am thinking I'll create a type B character... maybe a type C when I have more experience down the road

Thank you, and you're welcome.

I don't anticipate using her or Viktor anytime soon. But I thought I'd have their designs on hand for when the time comes. Might even do a mother-son portrait of them together. ^_^

Sounds like a plan ^-^ That would be so cute! ;w; Mamas and babies are always adorable together.

Actually, I was thinking of Eva with Viktor as a young adult, minus Sigrún, something that takes place in the same continuity as FF. Babies are cute and all, but I've done more than a few baby pictures already.

I think I'm confused, haha. Is Viktor Sigrun's brother or father? xD;

grayorca In reply to AnoOrca [2012-08-02 20:04:23 +0000 UTC]

He's her brother, four or five years older than she is. As far as this storyline goes, it's my stance that orcas are not necessarily monogamous, but due to the nature of the project in FF, it's somewhat unavoidable that they might pair off.

AnoOrca In reply to grayorca [2012-08-02 20:13:21 +0000 UTC]

Okay, the world makes more sense now! Haha.
It seems the pairing off in FF is happening quickly too. The shuffling around of orcas in pens will throw them all for a loop..

If all goes as planned. As I mentioned in the OOC thread, I'm not sure if the others have events they wish to play out on that given day.

True..we'll have to wait and see. I'm interested in Shark finally having contact with a female. I've only gotten to really show his aggressive side towards males. Not his attitude towards females.

Indeed. And even should it not work out in FF (for whatever reason; the suspense is killing me), once he is moved to NED, there'll be a greater chance for it to happen.

(Me too! xD) True enough. I'm so impatient though, haha xD;;

Same here. Case in point why I prefer RPs with only about three participants, max. These waits are so hard to endure sometimes.

Haha xD I hear you. Its fun to have lots of characters, but the waits are torture.

Thank you. That was an intentional choice, and why I insisted on mapping out her saddlepatch here, too.

I see.

That's the beauty with female characters,
They can balance sheer badassery and a striking yet subtle touch of elegance here and there.

Tis' klass~
